Hello Dr Prasad, I have an atrophic scar (about 3 to 4mm long) due to a surgery on the tip of my nose . I had a mole removed. The scar is like a small cross. Which laser would you recommend ? And what do you think about the ORIGIN laser? Sorry for my English... Thanks for your answer
@AmiyaPrasadMD3 жыл бұрын
Hi DDdu29, I would have to examine your scar, as well as your skin type before recommending any specific treatment, or a specific laser if it's appropriate. It's important to note that results or effectiveness are not determined by the device or its brand, but rather the experience of the doctor selecting and using the device. The device is just a tool in the doctor's experienced hands. I hope this clarifies things for you.

Hi fahimakhtar1000, I would have to examine your skin, skin color, and melasma before recommending a specific mode of treatment. I hope this helps you.

Is there a book that you recommend explaining the difference and uses of the lasers?
@AmiyaPrasadMD5 жыл бұрын
Hi Patty Cakes, There are extensive guides meant for doctors that are provided by different laser companies, but in the end, lasers are just tools used by doctors. It's in the experienced hands and judgment of the doctor that determine the outcome of laser treatment, and which particular laser to use for an individual and the issue they want treated. I hope this helps you.

Is there a laser treatment you would recommend for removing a cholesterol deposit in the skin under the eye? There is not a natural crease there so I am unwilling to use a scapel if I have another choice.
@AmiyaPrasadMD5 жыл бұрын
Hi Lynn Kristy, Yes, laser is usually the treatment for removing cholesterol deposits in the under eye area, and no surgery is required. I hope this clarifies things for you.

Is there one type of laser you might recommend for the cholesterol removal. I’m in CA and was seeing Dr Narurkar who suffered a heart attack and died and was a laser specialist. I am at a loss as to who to see but the laser type would help. I am also looking to have redness rosacea and large pores treated with IPL. Should have made my question more succinct. If you don’t have time to answer I did want to thank you for your educational efforts.

Hi@@lynnkristy1, Sorry to hear about Dr. Narurkar. The type of laser used depends on your condition, skin type, skin color, and most of all the doctor's experience. The doctor's experience in choosing a laser, controlling exposure, energy, and wavelength are all more important than the laser itself. I suggest you seek a doctor who has several lasers so there is no bias toward one they are promoting or trying to pay off. I hope this clarifies things for you.

Hi Zarah Khan, Since I have not examined your skin, or know details about your treatment, it is better to ask your doctor who performed the laser treatment as they know the condition of your skin. I hope this helps you.

tq sr but which laser isall in one laser...
@AmiyaPrasadMD6 жыл бұрын
Hi Geeta Vishnariya, There is no such thing as an all-in-one laser as they have different wavelengths and frequencies. Also, it is more important to seek a doctor experienced with using lasers rather than brands or types of lasers. I hope this helps you.

what laser will be helpful to remove burn scar contracture on lip along with vermilion border caused by chemical peeling ?
@AmiyaPrasadMD6 жыл бұрын
Hi subhadeep basu, I would have to examine your situation before recommending a specific treatment. Using lasers on darker skin has to be done very carefully to avoid hyperpigmentation. I suggest you see a doctor with a lot of experience with lasers on darker skin for a physical evaluation. I hope this helps you.
