Im getting scs soon and im gona use the fat ethic bolt shown in the video but i need headset spacers. do headset spacers weaken parts tho? i heard it makes forks snap easier. i need to run a lot of spacers too so will my forks be really weak? i bought strong metal spacers but will my parts break now??

Threaded compression has literally been around for 100 years+ at this point, so the patents have run out and is mass produced thus people figured out how to make it super cheap. It has been used on most bicycles types particularly it’s on BMX bikes, proving it is plenty strong but the down side it is fiddly to adjust and quite heavy to make strong. Thinking in the long run it’s cheapest to maintain vs thread-less as you just replace the balls bearing and fill it with grease instead of the full bearing as the races are the cups. So makes sense why Micro which started the modern scooter fab in the 1990s, used that system. Borrowing from the bicycle industry is a common thing in scooter development it seems . The design philosophy today is more disposable so it makes sense what thread-less system would be popular now, it looks cleaner(road bikes used it for Aero Advantage) and it’s less fiddly to setup(less man hours in a factory) but there’s no consensus so that’s why there are so many different systems standards that have been made . It does feel a lot more wasteful when you replace the full machined bearings but hey cheap labor in third world countries produce them cheap so we don’t have to think about , the scooters are more or less cheaply made and disposable as well when you look at all the snapped decks and bars compilations online .
