For general use 1 cement, 3 sand, 5 stone mixed dry and then as little water as possible to make the concrete loose enough to place. For specialty uses consult an engineer.

good explanations and animation. My only suggestion is that I would have called slabs and beams as "flexural" members instead of tension members.

It would be beneficial for us (Common people) ,if you discribe the different grades of cement used for 1.footing 2. Caulamns 3.Roof and brick work .
@oportillo025 жыл бұрын
Oh! By common use (houses) the rank of concrete in foundation, columns, and beams is f'c= 210-250 kg/cm2, slabs, and roofs -+ f'c= 150kg/cm2

Thanks a lot for the basics of concrete. How does concrete strength varies depends on cement grade (43 / 53 / 63)? I'm an electrical / electronics engineer. But love to understand the Civil engineering.
@PintuDas195 жыл бұрын
Sir I can not completely answer your question but 43 and 53 grades OPC are only used nowadays whereas 33 is obsolete. And sorry 63 grade is not available its 33,43&53 grades only. And use higher the grade higher the strength. These are the strength of cement and not related to concrete. 33grade cement means its strength is 33 n/mm2. As per my experience important structures are built using 53 grade whereas ordinary cement available in market are of 43 grade mostly
