Its one of the worst player house if you like hoarding stuff, The Sink was best for it cus you just only need 2 loading screens one for fast travel other one is door. Victor's shack is not bad too but when you fast travel to Goodsprings its a little bit away from spawn point and if you have too much weight on it walking there is sometimes pain, same with Novac house too.

The Sink is genuinely the single best player home in the game. It has fun personalities with a variety of utilities that make even more random junk items like dishes and clipboards useful, it's aesthetic, it has tons of storage, it's the only home in the game that comes with its own resident doctor and shopkeeper, and most importantly it's the only home that comes with ALL the crafting stations in reach.

The engine handles loose objects better than Skyrim and Fallout 4, so dropping an object and placing it carefully on a shelf means it will stay there until you move it. A lot of buildings also have safe storage (inventories that don't respawn) so you can use them to store a bunch of weapons, armour, misc. items, or whatever else.

My heart belongs to novac. Easy to travel to, you don't have to look at more than one loading screen if you want to enter your room, there's a merchant outside + the scrapyard, the place is quiet and mostly empty, no annoying people talking to you as you pass by. And you even get a teddy bear. Tho I often just go for nomadic style and put the junk I would normally store on my companion/s. Shoutout to rex for carrying the stolen power armors for me.

Yeah, but you have to leave and wait for the vender to restock caps. I, myself, would just go back to Novac, rest, eat, drink, hit up the legion stash, and head back to the sink and sell them off one at a time, I had six left when I beat the game, 7 with the gold bar left in the novac room safe.

In Fallout 3 there is a much larger pool of locations that are suitable, whereas the choices are much more limited in NV. There are only 2 official homes you can use in base F3. Base NV on the other hand has 6.

Junk in the suitcase, comps in the table next to it, cap/chips/1 gold bar/prewar money/"flour" in the safe, dinky dino by my bedside, guns/armour/ammo/stealthboy/repair kits in the closet, food/drink/eggs/blood in the fridge, meds in the dresser, and sexy night wear in the closet right of the bed. Has always been like that for going on 14 years.

@@timwest277 Me too, although I think I prefer F3. NV seems to developed a cult like following in recent years which gets a bit annoying. NV is a great game, I love it, but I think people overhype it way to often.

I will never be able to relive my last new Vegas playthrough. It started with project Brazil(prequel mod), through the normal campaign(DLCs too) then I just kept adding new dlc sized mods to it like the someguy series and... It just fucking worked somehow. No conflicts, no instant crashes... It just worked. It was the longest most eventful playthrough/character I've ever had... I never was as attached to one character like that one. It hurt when I had to move to another pc and the modloader broke.

Sink is easily the best. With upgrades you can have a free doctor, appearance changer, crafting stations, npcs that you can talk to and get you some nice stuff with the right requirements, even grow crops, all from your own home. It also only takes 2 loading screens to get there. Lucky 38 takes like 4 loading screens to get there. Tops Suite is even worse for that. Also we're totally forgetting Wolfhorn Ranch/Ulysses' Camp

One hidden location you can use as home is the Posideon Gas Station North-West in Good springs. This is an especially good spot too if you're doing a completionist run because of all the shelf space inside. It even has a sleeping bag behind the counter and is labeled as a player home in the game files, meaning nothing despawns.

My first player home was a mail box in Primm because I dumped every item I couldn't carry in there. On almost every subsequent playthrough I settled in a random house in the middle of nowhere that fire geckos keep spawning at, south of Vegas. These places are so much more special when you don't get "Workshop is now available at (location name)" shoved down your throat every new location you come by.

I like Harper's shack, it has beds, alot of storage compartments makes for great organization, electronic and ammo workbench, campfire outside for crafting, cooking or chem making, the Viper gang is nearby easy loot and XP, and depending on your level they're also deathclaws nearby and they can provide great XP as well if you can kill them, also the place has a unique weapon called Chopper a unique cleaver variant, and for those searching there is a blue star sunset sarsaparilla cap.

I stayed at all of them, in my playthroughs since 2010, but I mostly lived in the suite at the Lucky 38 since you can easily put all companions there. Nostalgia. 😆😎👌❤️

Everyone knows the sink is perfect. Got a safe for all my gold bars, multiple weapon trunks you dont have to waste money on. Got an Auto-Doc in your house. A perfect bed. A brain tank to have intellectual conversations with yourself technically. A bunch of company so your never bored. The sink is overall my favorite. All the personalities greeting you is unmatched.

It was a first start for me as well, until I found the sink in the old world blues. After I moved to the sink, I used Novac to store loot and items I wanted to eventually trade. The rare items and things I wanted to keep went to the sink.

I personally usually store my stuff at the Lone wolf radio station. Its a pretty good survival home aswell because of the many geckoes that spawn and the clean water source nearby.

There's an abandoned railway station that's not officially considered a player home, but is an unexpectedly fantastic base. It has plentiful storage, a campfire, and even water. It's also on a raised platform, so any time you get invaded by Legion, they have to path around it, and you get a free advantage. 😂 I used it for nearly hundreds of hours before switching to the Lucky 38 suite.
