Hi Scott, The SB-221 I'm converting to a 220 still has the original Eimac tubes dated 1979. The only time the tubes were used was when I completed the SB-221 in 1979 and tested it. The amp was never put on the air. Do you have a service where I can have the tubes tested, or just get a set of Penta Lab tubes? Have a Happy New Year and stay safe. 73 WJ3U

I hi pot them when a customer sends a package in for repair . If yours have not been used then most likely will be gassy. I would just buy a new set from penta directly from penta for the best price. Have a happy new year

I recently picked up a single tube 3-500 amp (vectronics 600). It came with a spare tube. Would you recommend swapping them out in regular intervals instead of the spare never being used? Enjoy your time off, 73.

Sure , maybe every few years. Must get the anode hot can’t just run the filament. Happy new year
