One of the best mutations I've seen in the last few years is the one that was stabilized in the strain "freak show" where the fan leaves do not grow into long fingers, but rather covered in fern like leaves. I recommend researching this strain if you aren't familiar.

Best mutation i ever saw, was from an outdoor Jack Herer, that had focused it's main growth into the bottom limbs, instead of at the top. The 4 lowest branches were the main colas. Each branch was one giant bud the entire length of the branch, and each one was 4 foot long and 6" wide, and growing in a circle around the plant. The higher you went up the plant, the smaller the yield. 4lbs. off that plant.

Scored an 1/8 of really tasty buds in 1999 and found a few seeds and grew them. My friend noticed one had weird leaves. We pollinated it with normal male from the same bag. This was the best tasting weed we had ever seen and that's why we didn't notice it didn't get you high. So I traded it for some Colombian and people went nuts for it! at the same time I started reading Genetics for Dummies and learned about recessive genes (Mendelian Genetics) and by this time I had a fat stash of pure mutant seeds. (Turns out to be Ducks foot strain I recently found out. )Crossed it with Flo, F1 all normal, F2 - 1 in 4 on average had the mutation and we took a male and female each mutated of our Mutant Flo and made pure Flo mutant seeds. It was a vast improvement in potency. Then I took a G-13 x Flo and crossed it with Cinderella 99 and crossed that back into the mutant Flo. Now I have "Twisted Sister"! Fucking killer all around. Then I crossed Twisted Sister with Mimosa Evo, Runtz Muffin, Wedding Cake, Dosido #33 and Glookies and had most of those seeds stolen along with the weed. But I saved the Mimosa Evo and Runtz Muffin crosses. Made F2 Twisted runts and I'm working on F3 now. Next I'll make Twisted Mimosa. But first I found Freakshow seeds and made Twisted Freakshow F1. All of them have normal leaves because the mutations are from recessive genes. 1in 4 of the F2 from this cross will look like Ducksfoot and 1 in 4 will look like Freakshow and 1 in 16 will have both recessive genes fully expressed. Those will be some very weird looking plants indeed. From there, I'll take one of those females and make feminized pollen with a clone and all of those seeds will have both mutations! The police have seen both strains from bad roommate/squatters and they loved them! Thought that was some funny shit growing in my closet. Got a medical license 15 plants at a time. I also used my Freakshow male to pollinate Wedding Cake, Skittelz, Glookies, Dosido #33, Apple Betty, Twisted Mimosa F1 and I forget. Next will be Fat Bastard by feminized Apple Betty and from there I'll be busy mixing and matching what I already have.
@vargaresa
@vargaresa 5 ай бұрын
I once had a Cinderella 99 which consistently produced a single male flower inside the buds, leading to naturally feminised seeds. That was really practical, as we could grow quite a few generations that kept this mutation. Sadly the seeds don't germinate anymore...

Back in '76 I grew 6 plants in plastic bags and 2 of them turned purple black on the first week. From a single Thai stick bud! They grew slowly but dense with 3 leaves per nodule on short petioles. They grew to 3 feet tall and 5 feet in diameter. Heavy purple black buds with purple crystals, tasted/smelled/smoked like sweet peas and roses, extinct now. We never knew what we had. I just finished a Northern lights x big bud auto from WSE and this thing ending up looking like sideshow bob, It had 9 very large foxtails which i had to keep pinching and bending over because they just kept growing, It was more like a vine and had it weaving through the scrog net ( i had to cut my scrog net to get it out ) And when i cut it down and laid it out on the ground it was nearly 9 feet long from the bottom of the stem to the tip of the longest bud, I've never seen an auto do anything like this before. Ended up with just under 14 ounces ( 389g ) of dry bud off of this one very strange auto grown indoors. The bud has a bit of a skunky smell and smokes like a champ. I asked WSE and they had no clue as to why it grew this way. Cheers from AUSTRALIA.

New to growing, I have several plants which all morphed from 5 & 7 leaves to 3 leaves. Autos, All were stressed by light & temp irregularities, no herms, all are loaded with bud sites, frosty trichomes, sticky & pungent AF. They’re all stunted in one way or another, but if they’re as potent as they smell, it’s an absolute win for considering all the mistakes I made.

@cohenreyes1499 The best way that I did was to completely drain as many nutrients from the plant as much as possible and the flowering cycle as well and then at the end of the flowering cycle, I completely shut the lights off from the incrementally diminished light cycle that started from 12 hours on and 12 hours off in which I extend the lights off cycle a half each week until I have about 4 to 5 hours of light and the rest is dark and then total lights off for about 10 days with minimal moisture in the soil. You can vary on this maneuver, probably depending on the strain. I hope this helps because I don't know of anyone else doing because I came up with this tactic myself.

"Polyploidism" is a tecnique used in all plant breeding. You can DYI it but it's difficult. You need Colchicine which is used to treat gout. There's a rhizome that flowers in the fall called "Colchicim Autumnale" that you can obtain colchicine from. You make a colchicine solution then dip your plant(a branch or two) and it will nearly kill your plant. When it recovers you can breed the plant. You cannot use this plant for consumption because it's toxic. The seeds are what you want. It will make more bud sites and bigger yields on smaller plants.

The single finger is called lanceolate, very uncommon. Your bud might have gotten a disease early flower like hlvd I've seen some plants that caught it early in flower and end up as clusters of pistils. Could be pests too. Spider mites wreck leaf/bud development.

@@TheJomoe1 if you got threes it's unlikely a lanceolate. Were the 3 fingers webbed or did any have double serrated fingers? May have been malnourished. Generally every set of new fan leaves should have a new pair of fingers until it reaches 5/7/9 depending on how much indica/sativa the plant structure is exhibiting. Having multiple sets of 1 I've never seen unless it's lanceolate, and if the main stem is continually spitting out non webbed three finger fan leaves it means it's developing slowly. Usually a sign it's hungry. The fan leaves are your first indicator of health between color, praying position, and increasing fingers on consecutive growth.

I once grew some plants here in CO. One of the plants I grew had leaves that were so thick you could use them as paper towels. I had never seen something like it on weed. The leaves felt like you were handling wet felt. I wish it had seeded. It didn't, sadly. I mean, I was trying prevent seeding, so it makes sense. But I wish I had some way to save that plant(I had not cloned it, but I do know it is a thing) . It was unreal what it produced. The flowers were so smelly. More smelly than I had ever been around. I actually got a headache just being around them. Was average strength, like 20% or so. But man, the appearance of the plant was absolutely unseen by me or my friends.

Cool name, huh..?! We always called them a Trifoliate, which has 3 branches coming from a single internode, rather than the normal 2 branches. When the plant is old enough to where it stops growing 2 branches from each side of the node, and starts producing non opposing branches from their own node, rather than the same node. These sets of 3 branches goes back to 2 when the branches aren't opposing each other. Usually within 8 to 10 internodes from the seedlings first internodes, before they grow opposing branches. I have a Trifoliate seedling growing now. Always interesting to see what happens!👍💯

@@Raper_of_Trolls that's excellent! I don't think it's even possible to get either of the traits in a first gen F1 cross, as both traits are recessive. To get recessive traits to express, your best bet Is to pop several individuals of the f1 cross then open pollinate them for the f2 generation where you should see expressions of both traits separately and (hopefully) together which is where you make your selections to get a true breeding double recessive. If you only have one plant, take cuts and flip a clone tomake female pollen and pollinate another individual to get S1 seeds. This would give you a 1/4 chance of having a full freak, and you would see in that generation if the grinspoon structure is present in your individual. If it is, you should have approximately 1 in 8 seeds express both traits. Id love to see the results

@@ATripp-dm9rg If they are both truly recessive traits then they must be an expression from different genes, or one/both expression is controlled by multiple genes. Otherwise their expression would be/look identical. So, unless multiple genes are involved, it should be possible. However, the mathematical odds to get those two specific recessive traits are probably very low depending on how many genes are involved if they are truly recessive, like rr, and not Rr. If your calculations for 1/4 for one trait is correct then that would mean it is a single gene that controls each of these specific traits. Therefor, both can show an expression in the same plant, but with a low chance. If it is multiple genes that controls each trait then the odds can get astronomically low depending on how many genes need to be specifically recessive to get the expression of each trait. And it might not even be possible to show both traits if multiple genes are involved in each trait. Many traits are controlled by more than a single gene, and that is when things can get complicated

By 10 months the leaf is better than bud. 1-2 hits and done for 5 hours of unconfused high class activity of your choice. 1 bonsai can keep 2 peeps pleasant for a year and beyond because u don't kill the plant just harvest the end leaves every day or two and the new growth comes in smaller leaves with more fingers. I've seen 14 finger leaves perfectly shaped and serrated without chemicals or deformation. Eventually they get to look more like a compact privet hedge than an evidence exhibit. Really nice buzz.

This past year I transplanted (2) Quarter Pounder Autoflowers from red, solo cups, to (2) 5 gallon grow bags. I planted one in "No-Name Brand" potting soil and one in a "Name Brand" soil. I've also had a Thai plant (back in the early 70's) that when it finally flowered, after nearly a year, it developed just a single branch that went hermaphrodite. I ended up cutting that branch off, but if I'd known what I know today, I would have let it pollinate itself and kept the genetics to breed with all the other (bag seed) landraces we were seeing and growing in Southern California back in the day! 😢 Cheers!💨💨🤙 ✌️💚🌲🌏☮️🕊
