Soon after winning the Fields Medal in 1962, a young John Milnor gave these now-famous lectures and wrote his timeless Topology from the Differentiable Viewpoint -www.mat.unimi.i... , which has influenced generations of mathematicians. The lectures, filmed by the Mathematical Association of America (MAA), were unavailable for years but recently resurfaced. With Simons Foundation funding, the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute has produced these digital reproductions as a resource for the mathematics and science communities.
Milnor was awarded the Abel Prize in 2011 for his work in topology, geometry and algebra.
The sequel to these lectures, written several mathematical lives - and a Wolf and an Abel Prize later - is "Differential Topology Forty-six Years Later,"- www.ams.org/not...

The beautiful thing about old lectures on math is that math never goes out of date; only built upon, unlike science. Old science lectures go out of date rather fast. Math lectures hold their verity for ages upon ages.

This is true, but I found it pretty interesting in lecture 2 to see how much progress had been made on the Poincare conjecture. So that was pretty awesome.

Commencing with the Unit Circle as 3D-T Physics representation of inside-outside Spheroidal Toroidal e-Pi-i sync-duration surface of Singularity-point i-reflection containment positioning, the picture of Photonic size derived from focusing the superimposed interference fringing by the Huygens Optics channel, the integration by Lensing of reciprocation-recirculation potential numberness in the focal planes corresponds to log-antilog interference positioning-location condensation.., (by a Condensing Lens).

Lucid, very easy to follow, but not so easy to duplicate, lol.
