I’m going to bet that Miss Muffy has a good 27 years in her. I say that because I see 3 cats in her - tortoise shell, calico, and tabby. Expecting 9 lives for each cat type, that’s 27 years. Thanks for sharing the story of your father; such an interesting occupation! Willis looks great!! I particularly like the highlights you put in your subjects’ eyes; that really makes them come alive. The highlights on Willis’ nose and the shading on his toes are so realistic. Your friends will love that portrait!!

It's so hard to think about losing a loved one, including pets. I have had several kitties euthanized and was with all but two up until the very end. @MaineCoonCapers There was a small fire at the end of our street last night, so there were three fire trucks blaring their lights and sirens at 2AM my time, which jolted me out of bed. Turns out that someone's older car caught on fire due to faulty electrical wiring under the hood. Nobody was hurt and the firemen put out the fire quickly but the car is a total loss. And I couldn't get back to sleep. Oh well, say hi to the kitties for me.

I was put in the same situation with my beloved cat pookie. The vet tried to force me to put pookie down I refused and brought him home. He passed away at home with his son and us bye his side. It is best to let go at home.

Oh Diane it saddens me regarding Miss Muffy when you were sharing your plans regarding her time. 25 years a long time. She looks better than some cats her age and older. I pray a miracle takes place and she lives a little longer so long as she's not hurting in any way. Cats hide that. But you will know.❤❤❤❤

My friend had a kitty that passed away at the verified birth-to-death age of 30. Kitty was doing well untill shortly before needing help to pass over the rainbow bridge. Don't put kitty to sleep if kitty is still enjoying life.

She is still enjoying her life!! She’s still very active and has a great appetite. We’re just talking about it now and planning for when the time comes, unless she passes in her sleep ❤️

Thank goodness !! We have had 31 cats in 25 years and Love all that are still with us ( 10 ) and grieve over the others. They were feral and house cats. We loved them all .

Happy Caturday, Diane, and everyone. And a special greeting for all the kitties who are watching. We've had 2 kitties put to sleep here at the house. It was very special and the way to go if you're able to do that. I think it is also beneficial for the other kitties in the household. But we're hoping it will be a long way off for Miss Muffy. Hi Cat Daddy. Like at your house, all of the kitties here have had their breakfast and have found their napping places and gone back to bed. Carol is still asleep. I'm the only one awake. Nice, quiet, and peaceful. Lol. We finally got above freezing for the first time in many days. So some of our snow melted. Carol has gone out and shoveled a bit the last couple of afternoons. Still a lot to go. My friend, Janet from Texas, got 5 inches of snow this week. The wet, heavy stuff. It's also pretty cold there. They have a whole house generator from when her father-in-law lived with them, so they didn't have to worry about losing power. We actually got more snow Thursday night - about another inch or two. Loki looked like he was teasing Luna a bit this morning, but it looked like she wasn't interested. She was being a good girl. Bear is so sweet and loving. Willis looks great. Seems like all your snow is dropping itself along the U.S. East Coast. Good to see that each of the kitty crew is in a good mood. I love the raccoon and actually love them in real life. Such characters. So wonderful that you paint. My sister got that talent in our family but, unfortunately I'm hopeless when it comes to rendering anything remotely attractive. That's a good idea to get a vet set up to do a house call should the need arise. I set one up when my girlie Blazer's time came. But they cancelled when I informed them that she was a biter. I was floored that a veterinarian wouldn't be an expert in handling prickly personalities. Take care and happy new year!
