The popular site just above the town clock in Old Harbour, St Catherine, known to many as the Old Harbour Market, is getting a much-needed face lift. According to Councillor Steve Graham (Jamaica Labour Party, Old Harbour Central Division) the owner of a property across the road - which houses the bus park - has given notice to the St Catherine Municipal Corporation.

The area now used for vending will have to make way for the relocated bus park. “A part of the market will now become the bus park and taxi stand; vendors will be relocated to the market house,” Graham told the Jamaica Observer. He could not provide a specific completion date but noted that work is being done “night and day” at the site.
Vendors' concerns about the relocation of the market will be addressed in the future, said Graham.

I have mad respect for my honest hard working people in Jam Rock. Even if 500 people selling the same things everyone trying to hustle fi mek a honest living. It warms my heart and give me hope for my nation. Most Jamaican foreign nationals come from very humble beginnings and I swear we all looking forward to give back to we country and build our people. It’s the only way our nation is gonna thrive and come out of the hole it’s in. Nuff respect to JWB for showing the “natural ambiances” of Jamaica, it really helps to counteract the wickedness in crime and violence that plagues our Sweet paradise. Sorry for the long rant, I haven’t even seen the video yet but just the title is encouraging. Just got done watching a bunch of Jamaica news channels and it’s been disheartening on so many levels. So many people suffering but still hustle and struggle to make ends meet while a “few” rotten eggs turn our country into hell and dishonour the hard work and sacrifice of our national heroes and other foundational pioneers. Brother please keep the good energy going and stay safe. I’ll keep you and the family and the rest of the honest hard working people of Jam Rock in my prayers. Our Country needs Christ more than ever. Let me stop now. 😔
