A Materials Science lecture that introduces the calculations of Diffusion in solids. An introduction to the concepts is already assumed.
The hurried nature of the recording resulted in some quirks, for which I apologize:
- The audio level is somewhat low.
- Half-way through, the audio and video are a few seconds out-of-sync.
- In one problem, the Boltzmann constant variable "k" is mistakenly used in a formula where "R" should be, though the correct value is used.
Let me know if these are problematic and I will try to edit it or re-record it.

sorry, maybe i'm confused or something but this was very unclear explanation. when you show us how to solve for D (inital). you didn't mention in the video that you had to multiply the boltzmann constant by avagadros number and i still don't know where you got 573k from.

He just converted from Celsius to Kelvin :D

Sorry for the confusion. I mistakenly used k when I should have used R, the gas constant, which is the Boltzman constant multiplied by Avogadro's number. I do use the gas constant when I first introduce the formula at 2:34. Raniel is right about the Kelvins. Thanks!

In the equation for D at ~ 2:22, you didn't define "e" or "pre-exponential." Please define these.
