Great little video of what was a major rescue mission against time and tide.

Excellent video but would have been nice to have a brief overview on why it was there and how it stuck

I'd guess they were doing some kind of re shaping of the beach and the tide came in just a guess

The groynes are being replaced, the digger tipped into a hole and got stuck

Theres a digger going cheap. One careful owner never raced or rallied

Looked after, had an easy life, only ever loaded trucks at the yard. Reason for selling so cheap - surplus to requirements

Watching this in silence is like watching a good Samaritan video of hunters pulling a stuck moose from a bog. Kinda heartfelt and uplifting.

So why were they digging up the beach anyway?

That required a lot more effort and resources than i thought it would. The strange bit for me though is that at no point did it right (wright?) itself,.even at the end.

This is a huge problem with plant nowadays...... All the crap that's on the engines to "so call be green".... When it does go wrong the main agent's can't get it to it now....coz there sorting other stuff out. The local plant fitter can't do much coz he can't talk to the bloody computer that's shit the machine down....... It's all bollacks now.

Looks like the cause to me too, it was easier to recover too, pull a lever and the oil would move to let it slew where it needed to be, hold the tracking levers and the tracks would kinda roll,

Not so much a rescue than a recovery ! The excavator is already a dead loss.
