Hand drilling a monitoring well involves using manual labor and equipment to create a borehole in the ground for the purpose of monitoring water levels, quality, and other geological parameters.
A key benefit to hand drilling your well is the easy ability to sample the soil as the drilling progresses. This analysis of the geological layers encountered can be valuable.
There are many reasons why you might choose to drill a monitoring well by hand instead of using a mechanical drill rig, including:
