This is an incredible production, SO well made! I also greatly appreciate that you explain so much about the process, and the "Why's" and "How's" of what you're looking for, what you are seeing or should see for specific formations, etc. I'm fairly new to Rockhounding (not my love of rocks, though), and one of the things that I wish others would do, you have demonstrated beautifully. Thank you! I just subscribed for all of these reasons.

Such amazing finds and amazing scenery ❤. When you got to your final destination of this video, I was so excited because I was born in Leadville. I would have loved to have been out there with you. Stay safe and happy hounding!

What color is your granite?? My granite is white with black I like your amonite , pretty,, our state is known fer granite mines,old timers use to find gold in Brooks but I Don't know how they found it,
@rockhoundlounge3 жыл бұрын
Well I don't live in Colorado I just went there to dig. But most granite is either whitish with black or pink and brown if discolored with oxides. The granite where I live in NC is mostly white with very minimal black or biotite mica and some hornblende.

Currently in CO for one more day, went digging in Cheyenne park mountain claims and couldn’t find much. Any areas you can help navigate me too where I won’t go home empty handed?

Can we find them pretty much in every state?. I'm in Vermont??
@rockhoundlounge3 жыл бұрын
Every state certainly has its own minerals or fossils to find but not every state has the same type of crystals. Colorado is unique in that it has an abundance of smoky crystals and amazonite.

In the video I believe you said that you were at the blue heaven claim? Is that the owner you are with? I am in Colorado and am always looking for new spots. Not sure if they allow people to pay to dig or if there are spots at devils head that you can search and not have to worry about being on claims by accident. I find the BLM land map hard to understand. Any tips and tricks is always appreciated!
