There is something about Garnets that makes one want more and more. It was fun to see how yous went about it to find them beauties. So perfect to find and collect for van living. They are so pretty and don't take up much room in Opal :) The lizard was cool to see also :) Enjoyed watching 😊

You guys are making me look more at rocks and stones when I'm put on my hikes, even though I have NO idea what I'm looking for or at I appreciate a good looking rock (different colors and patterns) 😁😊 Must be existing looking for something more specific, especially when you find pieces of what you're looking for✨🥳 Interesting video, lovley discoveries in this one too guys. What are you doing with what you find? Would you need a trailer for Opal with all what you collect soon? 🙈

That's so cool you're noticing rocks now. Our suggestion to you is to find a rockhounding book for your area and it will tell you what to look for in certain locations. It all starts with finding "pretty" ones. With the rocks we collect we end up sorting for the really good keepers to give away to our patreon members or rockhound friends. The extra we leave in piles for strangers to find. It's a good system until you put off sorting for too long. 😆

Wow, this was such a cool experience and journey, I loved it. I like all techniques you used to surface search, breaking rocks open and using your hammer to dig around in the eroding/dug out areas. Smart to look for the ones that fell out. Garnets really are beautiful! I feel like I have an ok knowledge of rocks and minerals, but then I get out there and I forget everything, lol. I think a lot of that is because I don't get a lot of time out there ,or didn't at the time, but do now. Also I'm not a morning person and typically wake up early for rockhounding trips, bugs are less bad in the morning, although this year the flies are terrible. This video inspired me to try something new, doing some research on a dig area closest to me. Thanks Charlie and Liz I always appreciate your hard and fun work!

Well that looked really fun!! I can't believe I haven't been up there being that I've lived in Las Vegas for nearly 30 years. Definitely on my Rockhound Treasurehunting list is Garnet Hill and most definitely The Royal Peacock mine that's not too far from there. It's an excellent location to find world famous Fire Opal. Great video!! Inspired me to take the trip. I like the sifting idea! I think I'll try all 3 methods. Digging, sifting and rock smashing. Can't wait! Thanks for the video..

I have to get out there , I would have in April but I knew there was snow coming :( . And that is awesome information letting people know that its not just picking up and walking away with a pocket full, so many people forget the hours that we throw into videos , its kind of like a fishing show they only show the catch but not the waiting. Super cool video .... And Charlie that was an amazing intro LOL

Hey there, The Adventure Closet, cool video and some neat Garnets for sure. I wonder if you could do something like they do in this video-kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3bXiXulmZyKpsk but just not use water, The Garnets should be dense enough to sink to the bottom in dry soil, you might be able to use a gold pan to get the same result. Thank you for taking us along on your hunt.
