Hi. I'm 82, a retired teacher and watched your most interesting video from Pinetown, near Durban, South Africa. You own a beautiful property and are very blessed. Nanna N.

A true sculptor artist of the earth. I knew a dozer operator that had the title of being an earth shaper by eye. Elite group of earth shaping skills.

Yeah, I like to do this. I take it like an art as well. I don't like to load truks all day long somewhere in the mine or something. Doing this, then the every day is different. Thanks for commenting and sticking by! Cheers!

Love the content and you're operating skills are awesome but that music makes video borderline unwatchable. Would rather hear the machine.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll make my videos mostly with natural sound. This video was made earlier in timelapse mode. That's why it's without the sound. Silence is also no go so... Thanks for watching! I hope that you find some other better videos on my channel. Cheers!

Agreed, I can't stand this techno/hip hop type of music. None of it sounds real and it's all just done in a computer. Maybe a variety of music to suit more people's tastes could help.

You should always start at the high side where the water is pooling, so that you can make sure you have good drainage because the water will always follow the bucket if you have the right slope

You dig this way? No, imagine that all the water is flowing onto you and you have to dig in water all the time. What a mess. And you don't see anything what are you doing.

Would a deeper trench, that is lined with fabric wrapped weeping tile, allow the surface soil to 'dry out faster', as well as being erosion-proof as small hills could stop surface flows, yet the trapped water flows out quickly. Flax straw or hemp stalks would do the same as the weeping tile.
@AFHProjects11 ай бұрын
No, it's too expensive. These ditches will last a long time. Thanks for watching! Cheers!

@@AFHProjects Just a thought. If you have the land, quad camping sites might be a way to generate income. (coming from the foothills of Alberta)
@AFHProjects11 ай бұрын
I don't have the land for that kind of stuff. I just got my piece of land paid at end of the last year. I bought about 15 acres of land, it's an old homestead and all the buildings are completely gone to the dust there, so I have now a property to start building my homestead.

@@AFHProjects What kind of standby power will you have? 12v seems to be all you need to keep most electric things working. Cold is a problem where I am, installing a small geo-thermal system would be 'insurance' so the building can be kept above freezing should the 'grid' go down. I can't think of anything cheaper, and 'bullet-proof' that using the same system used in cookoo clocks where the weight is about 500lbs. Install some sort of auto brake that releases when the batt hits 11v and gets applied again when the voltage is about 13.5. 220v gensets could be as easy as filling an old tire with cement, put it on a vertical spindle and the welder attached to that. When you want to use it, you would pull on a rope that is around the outside of the tire. A quad would be used to get it spinning at '20kph', It should spin for a few hours and only when needed. Anyway, have fun, hope you have a hobby that keeps you busy after you get the 'homestead' the way you envision it.
@AFHProjects11 ай бұрын
I connected to 220v power source. I have to still run the cable like 200 meters from electrical box but that's it. Then I can hook up with the power. So I'm good with that . I will bring you the content here when I get there. I still have to save some money for that. Cheers!

Give us the muck sounds of mud and water, the excavator engine and everything else. Throw in some narration " hey guys I'm going to go over here and carve this part out so I can do this part next" but PLEASE don't put that horrific sound in the videos.

I agree. This is my older project that I decided to put into one video and there isn't any sound, so... Sorry! I try to avoid this as much as I can. I'm not really want to add a music, but sometimes it's just needed. Like for drone shoots. But even then, I try to add natural sound if possible. Thanks for feedback! Cheers!
