oh god, the “anime connoisseur”,, i’m pretty sure the only reason his girlfriend’s interest in anime “seemed forced” to him is because of racism. like if he was genuinely concerned, he could’ve just asked if she was actually interested & made sure she knew she didn’t have to be for him to like her, but instead he told her she WASNT KAWAII 😭 nightmarish. abhorrent. and like, if it was an accuracy problem, he could’ve said kawaii is not the same as cute, and he could’ve told her she’s cute just not kawaii (and tbh even that’s really unnecessary), but no. oh my god.

The kawaii story just reminds me of my best friend telling me I'm "not alternative" because I only have one small tattoo and no piercings even though I listen to majority alternative music and dress in alternative fashion. Not as bad as what this guy did, but it's giving "you can't be that because I don't see it that way". And also if this is his gf, wouldn't you want to tell your gf she's cute in whatever way you can, especially when she's so clearly looking to you for a compliment?????

Yooo that kawaii story was so racist I hope those two aren't together anymore. I'm Black and love anime. I also have a background in Black Studies and the whole "she's sexy not cute because she's Black and thick" rhetoric is directly traceable back to enslavement and hypersexualization of Black people's bodies 🤢. It makes me think of Sartije Bartman (Hottentot Venus) and how she was displayed in a human zoo for Europeans to gawk at the size of her butt. Anyway, if anyone wants to subscribe to a Black woman who is plus sized and super kawaii, I recommend sweethime's videos. Loved this video and would like to see more in the future!

First, the spinning titles was a cool effect, but made my brain hurt to look at. Maybe another effect would work better? And second, I would love if you read some of the comments as well! I used to be embarrassed by my partner being so into MLP (and like I was weirded out that they used to be a brony even though my female friends in school were pegasisters... Like talk about double standards. But I just connected it to all the internet gossip around bronies). Anyway I realised that I love how unapologetic they are and like... Idk I love to see them happy!! Anyway so tomorrow we're having a winter wrap up (its almost spring in Australia!) and I'm helping them ice snowflakes onto gingerbread so we can eat them to clear away the snow, and I made them a set of origami ponies in the colours of the main 6, and all their highschool friends who used to watch MLP together are coming over!! Plus some bonus pony pals we've picked up along the way!

i super love these vids!! i think it mainly works so long as the aita posts are related to stuff YOU like pixie!! i found your take on couples finding their partner cringy to be really insightful. i initially would have said that person was the asshole but i think you're right. my gf for example plays games that personally give me a bit of an ick, but they aren't bad or anything nor do i judge him for it. i think so long as your distaste goes towards the particular interest and NOT your partner, it's generally okay.
