Tipper, We have answered prayers with my grandson, Hudson. After St. Judes got his bone marrow and after much testing, they said it showed no sign of cancer. It turns out he had a virus that mimics cancer. I know it sounds crazy but I see it as God's hands. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all your prayers. God is good and prayers do matter.

Time goes by very fast, especially in a time when much change is afoot. Your family has gone through both very painful losses and miraculous growth this year. I admire how hard you all work. I have worked very hard this year due to various events outside my control. But I've also learned that some of the tasks on my list are just not that important, and other tasks, spontaneously chosen, at the time not considered very important, have provided much joy in a year I might have otherwise regarded as very difficult. Take time to celebrate life and love and all of God's blessings.

What I've read is that the years seem to go faster because as you age each year is a smaller percentage of your life. You are an amazing family filled with love. You remind me so much of my family when my Mama was here. We were the Midwest version. Lived in a duplex with my Mom and Dad upstairs and brother a few blocks away. Tipper, tell Matt to cook the turkey just like he does the deer ham. My husband puts butter all up under the turkey skin. Douse it with a little vinegar. That helps tenderize it. He heavily covers the bird with cavenders' .greek seasoning . Cut up potatoes, carrots and onions and put them around the bird. He also buys a pepper and onion mix and puts it on top and around the bird. Put two layers of tin foil over the pan and seal it up tight to keep that moisture in there. It doesn't get as tender if you use a lid. It needs to be tin foil to seal it up real good. Bake at 300 for about 8 to 9 hours. He does it overnight like Matt does his deer roast. It's so tender and moist it will fall off the bone.

Matt and Tipper, There’s an air fryer that’s made to cook turkeys or chickens or ribs or hams or any larger meats. It uses propane just like your camp chef. We love it because we don’t have to buy oil, but you still get the crispy skin. It is called The Big Easy by Charbroil. They are often on sale this time of the year.
