Digging the Mound - Day 24 Part 1 - The Hole

What is hidden within this mysterious mound?
One of many hidden in plain sight just off the main trails in a UK forest .
Curiosity got the better of me and so I began to investigate.
This is a documentation of my journey filled with twists and turns while searching for answers.
How old is it? Is it a mudfossil? Is it a burial site? Was it the site of a lost Medieval building?
with each discovery a new question is raised pointing to each and all being a possibility.

Sadly I discovered earlier this week, the dig site has suffered the same fate as St Catherines hill and has been majorly vandalised with parts of the area kicked in and most of what was pulled out of the dig thrown around the area. it is obviously a deliberate act and the person responsible must have spent time looking for the site as it is not easy to come across . I am presuming it is the actions of the same shameful person responsible for St Catherines hill. But don't worry as I've barely scratched the surface

@@krs4976 That means no but common land in England and Scotland must be different ? if your caught doing that up here you go to jail or a healthy fine . dont you think you could have followed proper archeological protocol or maybe done some map research at the local library ?

You need to at least fence off your hole, it's a danger to others.
