Ga Boy , u know that ole pine sap makes the best hand cream in the world. My Wife usually pours Me a cup of Turpentine before I leave every morning to drink. Gets the day started right . Cures the stuttering, gets your blood pumping, , and gets your vision clearer. So many things a pine produces. LOL. Been in theTimber biz a long time. Just trying to laugh a little with all yal! Found a ceramic wire insulator embedded in some old growth pine a few weeks ago. It didn’t work out to good for the blade. Stopped right there and called what was left a good beam and got me another tree and blade. Found some crazy things inside trees over the last 30 years. And still trying to c what else I’ll find Yal take care. AC

Depending on how often you hit nails it might not be a bad thing to buy a Garret pin pointer, Metal detectorists use them while checking the hole they are digging out for a find. It would sure make a person mad to think you got them all then hit another one. Guess that's why you finish off the rest of the log with a used blade.

It's really rare that you only hit a nail in a tree. There will almost always be more that 1.

Are your blades toast when you hit a nail? I've been running cooks super sharp last couple years and a nail strike nocks all the teeth smooth off.

I hit one today on a new woodmizer blade. It dulled it but I was able to finish.

Most times I just chuck them. If I hit metal in a log I normally put a used blade on to saw the rest so I'm don't ruin another new blade. I run .055x1.5x7/39 silver tips
