Our potato digger lifts 6 drill at a time only the driver needed and the loading truck...Runs 24/7 for 10 weeks and 3 crops per year 4.800 hectares register on the clock multiple that by 3..

Well I must say that’s quite a potato digger. I’ve seen quite a few Massey Ferguson attachments, but never seen one of those. Works great. If the ground was a bit dryer, that would be nice. Could have used one of those a few years ago. Have a great day. 👍🏻👍🏻👋👋

Good on Phil for keeping up the stereotype that the Irish are obsessed with potatoes. Love the video all the same.

Instead of "letting it dry" I would run that implement through a shallow creek. If no creek is available a 5cm fire hose would suffice.

Considering how late you are lifting that went quite well. To cut down on the number of green potatoes next year plant the spuds in 30" drills not 26". This will allow you to earth up the drills higher to cover the growing crop. Possibly your sprayer is set to 60" wheel centres ,you will have to set one of your vintage tractors to 60" centres to plant and ridge the crop. No need to tell you lot to have a merry Christmas as I'm sure you will .Hope you have a good new year as well. I'm into classic cars and we usually have a trip to Ireland in the spring ,always have a brilliant welcome when we do. Haven't been able to go for 2 years now but next time we go will try and venture a bit further north and see you

Nothing wrong with a bit of old school digging and some elbow grease. That said looks a lot easier that the Ramone digger we have. A lot to be said for some work gloves when picking spuds Phil, surely you could have found a few to keep the hands warm 😀.

I used to plant potatoes in my garden. Here in Wisconsin USA by Christmas ground is usually frozen so I would cover some hills with leaves to prevent freezing so I could dig some fresh for Christmas. To me potatoes taste best when fresh dug.

I was getting dizzy watching until the stone got stuck, great job with the container for storage, we stored our spuds in “pits” back when in the day, a straw lined mound covered with earth. “go get the spuds or the dinner” I was told, so off to the pit to dig out a few spuds, hit the mound a few wallops to clear the rats before digging and any bit of the spud with a nibble on it was cut off, not sure how I’m still alive.

Hi, as someone has already mentioned, always best to switch engine off when messing with PTO, yes i know its not a IPTO or modern electrically controlled PTO but someone could have jumped onto tractor and kicked lever into gear, or it could have been in ground speed and Phil could have reached through and pulled lever right into engine speed, we all know there are too many injuries and fatalities in farming, my father lost two fingers doing something a lot of farmers do every week, he was stood chatting round a sale ring at a cattle market, he had his hand on the metal railing and a bull tried to get through the ten inch gap with his head, cutting dads fingers straight off.
