Never knew of the aerosol glue you were using, so I learned something today. Great video. Seems crazy that a washing machine is outside, and the drain line is only a few inches deep. Here in north central Ohio it would be 36", if not 40". You do good work, and the customer got his money's worth.

Thanks! Yea we’re in the south so we can kinda get away with stuff like this, I wouldn’t normally do a drain this shallow in the ground but it wasn’t done to code in the first place so I didn’t really have a choice

Nice job, shows how useful the mini can be in tight areas. An excavator beats hand digging any day.

You did another excellent job, but the part that I really wanted to see was how you dealt with those roots. L ol Up here in the North, those drain pipes would have to be buried below the freeze line, (about three ft.) And an inspector would have to sign off on the work before you could backfill.
@The_Home_Pros

there wasn’t much roots to deal with after I dug them out, we don’t have snow here and this is just a washing machine drain so no permit needed

Very nicely done video. Like the contents, and the speeding up of certain sections. Some people run normal speed through the entire video and sometimes its like watching paint dry. Keep em like this one.

My very first piece of powered equipment was a 2010 BX25 front loader, tractor, backhoe. When I bought it my grandpa said, "Well, that's the smallest backhoe I have ever seen." About 2 hours later after some backhoe work, he said........ "Beats a shovel anyway of the week." Good work bro! That little mini did the job!

@@The_Home_Pros Get the BX23s. It's the updated most recent model from Kubota. Actually comes set up with loader, backhoe, 3 point hitch components, and 60" mower deck by default. It has a 25 hp 3 cylinder diesel. And is quite the work horse. I own a 2020 BX23s now and it is a vast improvement over the BX25. My name is my business name. I am general contractor who advertises as a Handyman, property maintenance, and junk removal company.

Not trying to be that guy, the excavation work came out great. But as someone already pointed out, you need to use a long sweep 90 underground instead of the quarter bend. Even though it’s just a washing machine, you still need to follow code when installing those waste lines. Also, the P-trap for the washing machine is not vented. It’s going to end up siphoning and letting sewer gas back into where the machine is. When you’re running the gas line, you should have run poly piping and it’s supposed to be 18 inches below grade. You really shouldn’t be touching plumbing systems unless you’re a plumber, but if you’re going to do it, you should at least follow code. Just offering some constructive criticism.

I appreciate the tips however, I did this job years ago and I continue to do jobs for these people, and they have not had one single problem out of the work that I did. The washing machine is outside and the top of of the pvc pipe is open and the discharge line just sticks in the PVC so it’s pretty much vented that way as it’s not sealed around the top, so it drains perfect and like I said they have not had any issues at all. If this was actual waste like in a toilet I would’ve done it different but since it’s only just a single washing machine that’s outside and only water is flowing through it I think I did just fine.

On a shallow job like that, I always worry about getting the pipe to go downhill all the way. I'm not too fond of a pipe full of water all the time; it gives a place for bad things to happen. I bet you thought about that, but there's been times I haven't and had to go back a few years later and (ahem) fix it.

On drain lines, 90's should not be used, use to 45's to make a turn, too easy for debris to stay in the corner and give you another job. Also, always use Galvanized pipe for gas lines. The plain pipe they have in stores is junk. Will be rusting within a year. Being you were going to paint it, Yellow is the color for gas lines. Not condemning you, just letting you know a few things I have come to learn over the years. nice video. Thanks

Hey Doug thanks but this drain is only running one washing machine or I wouldn’t have used 90s I think the gas line will be fine I coated it really well with a paint and liquid tar then wrapped it. Our codes are a lil different in the south also. Thanks for watching and I appreciate your input and I think you are correct on all of it

Where should the blade be on a digger? With a mini excavator of more than eight-tonnes, you'll generally want to keep the blade in front. However, with smaller mini excavators, particularly those weighing less than three-tonne, positioning the blade in the back can provide much-needed stability and balance.
@The_Home_Pros
@The_Home_Pros Жыл бұрын
Not true that is a complete myth I’ve tried that several times and it makes digging much worse, if you position the blade in the back of the machine and try and dig some thing, it just wants to make the machine tip forward

@desert-home

Different states, different requirements. I had to put a vent in for a washing machine in both CA and AZ, but didn't have one in NM. Some states consider the pipe where you shove the washer hose to be a good enough vent for one appliance, others not so much. I did have to put in a pee trap in all cases as you did. I found that a pee trap was too hard to snake out, so I always put a place to get a snake in so I could get the random sock that the washer threw out into the drain out of the line though. Besides, if there is a problem, a vent is really easy to put in a vent with no digging. Just some PVC pipe, a fitting, and about an hour's work to run it through the roof on an open wall like that. No big deal. See, there ARE polite ways to comment; Kenneth should try that sometime.

@thehomepros6221 In this video you mention your pvc glue drying up. When your done using put the cap on nice n tight, then store the can upside down. It doesn't dry out and the cap doesn't glue itself on, just make sure to tighten the cap up enough though.
