13:00 Save your money, get a chimney candle from the Dollar Tree and stick the whole thing in a pot of boiling water to melt the wax, you'll have to use like chop sticks to dip your roundies but...

I like the tinder quicks, small and light. I have them in all my survival kits and wood stove kits. I made a fire kit from a match safe, water proof matches, striker, small farro rod and tinder quicks.

Just a BIg FYI chris, Never heat wax over a flame, use a double boiler, It can ignite even over low flame.. Dont take my word for it, check it out for yourself :D Best wishes

i agree with the corona sharpener beeing a great scraper for a ferro rod, but you really have to be gentle when scraping the rod, or else your ferro rod will look like a serrated edge knife. i does work great on magnesium bars just be gentle not a lot of force needed with the corona sharpener.

Found what works really well is a hand sanitizer containing ethyl alcohol and BIC lighter. Very effective and consistent. Carry a small container when camping.

Perfect timing, I’m enjoying a fire in my backyard fire pit.
@dirtysouthbushcraftandmma97844 жыл бұрын
I've spent the past few days renovating my back yard fire pit. I dug it out making it essentially a Dakota pit, added a 10/10 ft gazebo I got on sale, sprayed the top with some water repellent to take it from water resistant to waterproof, put a couple folding camp chairs with the beer holders (beer included) under it with a couple sawed stump rounds for tables to make it all bushcrafty, then sat under it in the evening rain and enjoyed a nice softwood fire. (it was like a sauna under there in this July weather here in NC, too hot for a hardwood fire) lol but I'm thinking it's going to be awesome when cool weather comes around. Stay safe brotha

My favorite is still the "boy scout fire starter" Paper egg carton, filled with sawdust (pencil shavings), soaked in wax.

Yay fire! Good to see you again Chris! That was nice seeing part of your fire collection. This could be like a extended use review thing. Just showing a bunch of stuff and saying if you like it or not. Maybe an all tents video next. Just a thought. I forgot about some of those, all good stuff! The lightning strike and sweetfire are at the top of my list to get. I'm just procrastinating lol.
@randyyeager4 жыл бұрын
I like most of that stuff...though I can't afford most of that either...so I tend to do the cotton wax rounds as they are inexpensive to make. You should do a video on ALL the fire stuff you have kits and all. Fire cord or Titan cord etc.

Fuel tablets! ("Esbit", hexamine) They'll heat a meal all by themselves...or start a larger fire.

I don't exactly have a Kit. I just buy a bunch of everything I see, throw it in a box, and then grab something to throw in my pack when I get out on the trail.

You know, is there any background noise that Chris hasn't captured in his videos at this point? I mean lawn mowers, garbage trucks, etc... Waiting for him to capture the sound of Bigfoot at this point.

Excellent variety, no such thing as too many ways to start a fire, we were hunting one and my crazy Uncle used friggin Fritos to start a fire, the oil burns for a few minutes, it works and you can eat some.

LOL you did the same thing I did. Tied the EXOTAC lid to the body.........I kept losing the damn lid ! And those CountyComm lighters do last for ages. Have the Peanut XL.

Anyone else seeing reports or experience of the Exotac Titan Light "pulling a Zippo" and going dry.??..I know all the stories about leaking from improper filling. Mine is fine. Still full after a month, but it will eat flints...whoopie do... I'm thinking these people are burning up o rings. I just light a hunk of fat wood and go😂
