Man, I haven't done that since I was in diesel school back in the 80's. Part of the program was a semester of a cutting and welding course. Before we ever got to touch a welder, we had to learn to push a puddle with an oxy/acetylene torch. We got to do a little brazing which I did pretty well on but, I'm still not a good welder. I guess practice makes perfect and I don't do it much. Thanks for the video Mr. Frank.

Nice job 👍. I'll give you two 👍 if you make a new piece out of steel. Then no worries of it breaking again. Plus I get to watch another video 😄😄

I have welded many things but brazing just don't like me, never did it enough I guess. That weld will be there for many years, darn nice job Frank. It would have been nice to see the bell. Keep smilin

Nice job Frank. Good idea using the needle scaler, gives it that original rough texture. I think it will paint up nice.

Good job! Very cool to bring back something that most would have sent to scrap.

That is a thing of beauty! I enjoyed every second of that. Hey, do you think my 6013 dirt dabber bead would have fixed it right up?🤪 VERY NICE WORK!!!

My friend and neighbor welded up a 20 inch iron bell and it was successful. It had a 10 inch crack in it and sounded clunky but when he welded it back it rings real good.

I'm pretty good at welding but a complete failure at brazing. I'd say you did a dang good job!!!

I have had good success fixing things like that with Aluminum Bronze rod, Tig brazing on AC. I open the joint just like you did. The AC helps clean as you go too! It's a neat alternative if you have the option.

Good job brazing, I usually weld cast with nickel rod, peen it after welding to relieve stress post heat then cover it with a blanket or sand and let it cool slowly

I watched the old man neighbor when I was a kid try to fix a old cracked engine block on his old tractor I remember him heating it for a long time then he used a stainless welding rod and welded it then heated it all up again and then let it cool slowly he fixed it your fix looks great should work fine for what it needs to do thanks for sharing
