the part that broke me is when Agumon and Gabumon asked Taichi and Yamato "What will you do...tomorrow?" and they said "together, we can-" and then the both of them gets hit by the realization that they will no longer be together because they're growing up and needs to start doing things alone and independently. It's basically like with us from the 90s. We watched and loved digimon and after we became teenagers, most of us left it aside and grew up a bit. And then it came back to us and we continued our journey together. The remake of adventure one was awesome too. The point is. They will definitely meet again.

I think that focusing on it as growing up is a bit wrong message people get from movie. 02 kids weren’t in danger of losing their Digimon, and then we have epilogue of 02. The message is more of neglect, they weren’t making their Digimon parts of their lives. They were pushing them to the side, treating time with Digimon as side thing. That’s why they had to separate despite the Bond evolution, one good realization doesn’t fix the neglect and the fact you don’t have room for someone in your life. In contrast, 02 kids and Takeru and Hikari kept on making their Digimon part of their lives. They were always there. Plus, it’s not “oh they had D3, they Could open the gate” Taichi and Yamato could have asked their siblings to open it to visit their Digimon. Or get them to their place. But agumon says how this is first time Taichi even got him to his apartment after all. That’s why when they start pursuing careers they have from 02 epilogue, they start dreaming again and start making room for Digimon in their life again. But they need time.

Gabumon was my favorite. As a kid, I always dreamed of him as my partner. Those dreams and the lessons I learned from Digimon Adventure helped me survive a rough childhood. Seeing Gabumon dissapear like he did at the end has had me crying my eyes out whenever I think about it for days. The amount of emotional dependency I must have had on him as a character I looked up to as a child came surging back to me as an adult all these years later. I know it's an illogical and emotional response, but the tears just keep coming. Thank you for being a light in my darkest hours Gabumon. I hope we meet you again old friend.

It's not illogical. I was the same way too. Imagining having Gabumon as a partner helped me through really rough times. It hurt a lot so see him go but to have had him there in the first place was truly a treasure 💙

-sighs- well that's it. There adventures are done. I grew up watching these kids and there digimon alot. Always liked tai,mat and there digimon. It just hits me so hard to know that after everything they have been through it had to end this way. Shame it was so soon. The memories I have of them will always be there even though I'm in my 30s. I never thought that there digimon would just vanish when they reached a certain age..but I suppose all things have to come to an end at some point. Now's it's on to the next generation to continue there stories and adventures.

Doesn't anyone remember in the original series it shows their adult selves with their future kids in the digital world! So yes while they may not be able to enter by themselves that doesn't mean their kids cant and intern take them with them into the digital world again. So the creators of the series were pretty smart setting it up. It looks like it might be the end but a true fan would remember that scene of the adult Digidestined in the digital world. This just a temporary goodbye! XD after all no one truly grows up we will always have a part of our childhood with us till the end!

I want to start off by saying that somebody already mentioned it was in a different timeline. But let's assume it wasn't for the sake of the argument . I also wanna start off by saying that I mean no disrespect I'm voice typing and I'm not really good when it comes to explaining myself without seeming rude. Just know that that's the last thing I would want to do to a fellow digimon fan. I do want to mention however that I have a couple of issues with what you said being a true fan has nothing to do with memory like you so sad. A true fan would remember that scene you could have bad memory and still be a true fan whatever the heck that subjective statement means. Not only that period but I would heavily disagree with the concept of them being smart in adding that at the end of 02. I doubt they had any idea that this movie was gonna be made I see it more of a ret con more than anything. And. Other than that though I hope you're right. I would hate to think that they never get to see the digimon again.

I feel like this is an ending for OG fans, I mean by now we're all have become old (23). For me I see this movie as a moving on chapter in my life, I've been Digimon Adventure fans since I was a little kid, and this movie is kinda like to let go of my childhood and start to live as an adult. Of course that is not the real cases, but I honestly love their ending, so for me, I wouldn't be expecting anymore movies/series about the OG Digimon series and kids nowadays can have their own digimon series to obsessed with. Well if the rumors are true then this will not be the ending to Agumon's and Gabumon's relationship with Taichi and Yamato. In the Digimon 02 movie, they say that Yamato and Taichi will be reunited with Agumon and Gabumon. It is a fair ending that Agumon and Gabumon stay together with Yamato and Taichi till the end of their lifetime.

But the one thing the passing of the years cant take away from us is the memories we collect along the way. I was 7 years old in 1999 when this wonderful adventure kicked off. It has been amazing. And though this ending is bittersweet the future isint set in stone, as we learn from the ending of 02.

Overall sadly they're not Victorygreymon and Zeedgarurumon would smoke them even worse then what Eosmon did to Omegamon. Digimon are tied to a persons childhood! In a way digimon represent the childish nature in people and their childhood respectively which is why they say that a leaves is because they’ve matured enough to stop being as childish, whilst this isn’t a thing set in stone but a digidestined’s partner can return usually when the childish side returns or they relive their childhood maybe through having kids of their own or some big lifetime event! So I believe whilst I don’t have a lot of evidence to back it up, that a digimon is essentially like a support animal, to help a person mature and get their life on track in a way!

Sou muito fã de digimon, moro no Japão e tive a oportunidade de ver esse filme no cinema quando lançou, infelizmente seu lançamento foi bem ruim pois foi na época do corona e pouco cinemas exibiram ele então a bilheteria deve ter sido fraca. Nunca chorei em filme e series mas OP e Digimon me fizeram chorar horrores, no final do kizuna eu estava muito mal, até achei que iria ter continuação devido ao final do 02 mas acho que não, apesar de querer muito uma continuação acho melhor assim, tenho 30 anos e cresci vendo digimon, essa filme fecha o ciclo, foi muito foda, e para coroar essa saga vem essa musica do Miyazaki, TODAS as musicas que fez pro digimon são foda demais.
