Agreed. The voice cast/direction in Data Squad is fantastic. Quinton Flynn in particular just kills it as Marcus. Easily my favorite anime voice acting performance. And the soundtrack is just... Well I think it speaks for itself.

I can't believe it took 5 seasons for the Digimon localizers to realize what the Japanese understood all along: it's FREAKING AWESOME when the evolution theme spills over into the battle theme!

@@92Beyo The dubs for seasons 1 and 2 have some nostalgic value for the voices and I think Tri does a good job of showcasing what the original actors are capable of when they're not held back by a bad script. Fun fact, the dub director of the first two seasons also directed the dub for Data Squad, so I'm inclined to believe executive meddling was involved in trying to make the first two dubs more kid friendly, which resulted in a bad script.

I can't believe it's already been like 11 years since I first watched Data Squad, and maybe 6 years since I finished the series. Arguably my fav season of Digimon; I LOVED the dub music, and I'm so glad to see others feel the same way!

Honestly, I think one of the main reasons I love the show so much is because of the music. It may not be as extravagant as the symphonic orchestras of Digimon seasons 1-4, but it is easily better IMO

I never did either until just recently because none of the other Digimon series have been released in 5.1 surround sound in any region or language. Only the movies were released with 5.1, and movies as a rule usually always have 5.1 mixes so the fact that this existed for Data Squad never occurred to me. So yeah, this series' DVD release is especially unique. Really got lucky with this one, and even then we still only got half the series this way. Take what you can get though right?

The Burst Mode theme is probably my favorite theme from the show, but unfortunately it's likely not possible to rip it cleanly. We were lucky enough to have the first 26 episodes of Data Squad released in 5.1 surround sound by Well Go USA. Thanks to that, I was able to cleanly remove the voices from the center channel without any audio quality degradation. Unfortunately, the remaining DVD sets from Well Go USA were cancelled, and the current Data Squad DVDs from Cinedigm are in 2.0 stereo. So, unless someone else comes along and licenses the Data Squad home distribution rights and releases them in surround sound, clean rips of some of the music from the final episodes, like the Burst Mode theme that doesn't play before episode 38, are likely impossible. Either that, or there would have to be Data Squad DVDs released in some other country in 5.1 surround sound. I know a few episodes of the 4kids Sonic X dub were released in some country like Hungary with surround sound despite being 2.0 stereo in America. Any help anyone can provide would be appreciated, but this is likely as far as we can go for now. However, I have gotten a fairly enthusiastic response to this on Reddit and in a few Discord servers, and it's picking up a little steam on KZbin too, so I will upload as many other tracks as I can. TL;DR - Clean rips of any soundtracks past Episode 26 are most likely impossible, but I'll upload as many as I can from before that point

SeannyBravo The only other releases I can think of are the PAL releases by Madman Entertainment, I know they've released the full series but I'm not sure if they would have it in the format you need though. Either way good luck and I hope you find that awesome Burst Mode theme!

@@rduran16 That was one of the first ones I checked actually, and unfortunately it's not in the proper format. However I have begun working on a fandub of the series and an awesome friend of mine will be helping reconstruct some of the tracks I can't extract. They won't be perfect, and they're quite a ways off, but he may be able to help reconstruct the Burst Mode theme. In the mean time I've been extracting the tracks that I can and once I've gotten ahead of the game at college this semester I'll start uploading some more

Thanks to my family getting a DVR before this show started airing I was actually able to watch it all the way through and not miss any episodes. I loved the other series but their schedules were all over the place and as a little kid I had no clue when to watch them. Data Squad wasn't the first Digimon series I watched but it was the first I finished all the way through without missing anything major, so it holds a special place in my heart for that reason.

It's all because of the studio they hired. Studiopolis has an amazing reputation in the anime industry and they're very selective with their talent pool and casting process. The dubs steadily improved through the first 4 seasons but they were always missing something until they hired Studiopolis.
