As a player of security control since the early days of McDonalds Control, there are a few things I would like to add to your comments. First the decks ratios are extremely important. Tactical retreat should only be used if playing security mons other than herrismon. The value of your digitama is greater than 1 security and losing field advantage. Flame Hellscythe should only be run at 4 with 10 + targets, otherwise without prior trash set-up you miss the second effect, so I would recommend running may maycrack or angewomon (sec-2) as the secondary lvl 5 instead of the Ace. I've seen very little success when adding Magnaange Ace in over maycrack. You should also consider heavens judgment because needing to hit 15k isn't as important and clearing wide boards. Adistako is best against the greymon armies since they will reduce you down quickly so you deplete their resources faster. TK and Kari feels like a little irrelevant in this deck because you should be always higher than them on security and really shouldn't be playing cards in the case you are losing. You said it perfectly in the intro, SecCon is about biding time until they make a mistake, and you take advantage of that, but playing cards that are for the what if I'm losing scenario tend to make your life harder. I personally like tamers who have lasting value, but also maximizing consistency is key. Almost all the tamers you listed are good options, but I would say choose 3 or 4 and stick with them. I like mimi, purple kari and yellow setter Kari because they all either extend my own plays or shorten my opponents.

I've been playing a package of 3 EX1 Leomon and 4 of the BT14 T.K. along side, 4 setter Kari. With them out I can recover a lot more and faster than most people expect me to be able to while also choking memory. I also agree that there should be at least 1 heavens judgment. The amount of times it has saved my bacon or that I have been able to hit 30k dp reduction is a lot more than I was initially expecting. T.K. Takaishi & Kari Kamiya tamer is fine in non-aggressive versions like the one showcased here. As the showcased version of SecCon is a more passive version the T.K.& Kari allow for more turn around plays. If he was running the BT14 Seraphimon I would say it would be a bad choice.
