Reading the manual explained most things. I just had to manually test and write down some numbers to get certain digimon post game grinding. In the 90s that is, now all the information is very easily available.

This was my first time of watching a speedrun of this category. My favourite categories of speedruns for this game are the Legacy Speedruns, but this run still proved to be something refreshing to watch. 👍 Also, the battle at 1:15:05 took bad luck to the extreme. 😢

Hey Raikou. If I use the same bios as you, and recreate your movements for the RNG manip, could I reliably recreate the pattern you used to stack successful bonus tries? If I go save at jijimons house, and I soft reset the emulator (not using save states) could I do it reliably a second time? If I don't let my digimon catch up to me to move the rng counter up, could I do this for the other trainings as well? Manipulating the same counts to get the same results but at different stations?

yes, its possible, you gotta account for the few RNG advances that happen from the intro if you are saving in Jijimons house, its like 1 or 2 advances off, just be aware that its not all movement based stuff that advances the RNG, animations of the offense training can change the RNG too, so make sure it mimics my beginning as close as possible, any slight thing off and it wont work (condition of your Digimon and the Digimon you are using can affect it too)

@@akirafudo5053 While you are right that a mod exists that does that, it is not used in speedruns. There is a gap in the trigger that checks your type. You can walk around it.
