Well, it was your birthday but you got me the gift of demoing how to do ratchets with the retrig function on the Digitakt, which was really nice of you! I’m sure I would have found it eventually by reading the manual but just seeing it done put it directly into my tool belt. Happy birthday!

Thanks so much!! It’s honestly an amazing tool that I forget about all the time.. but when I remember it exists, I use the absolute hell out of it

Thank you so very much pal! This one definitely got me excited, it kind of just fell out of my head after a period of not playing for a few weeks. Sometimes we just get lucky!

Happy birthday! The magic is definitely in the tempos locked to one decimal place increments! In all seriousness this is great man! Love the vibe!

I really enjoy your videos. Would it be possible to do a video on the Midi side of the Digitakt and Digitone? I have both units and this always confuses me. Keep those great videos coming! Thanks
@SlowHaste2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching!! I have a quick video on the channel going over setup and syncing. But I haven’t used them to control any external devices yet!! Primarily because I don’t have a MIDI input for my modular, and I don’t really have many other synths hahah

hey i just watched that vid... so do you do the p-locking on the tone? ive thought about setting up cc mapping on the digitakt and saving a project as template for ease of use because it feels like you're juggling a lot when you try to parameter lock on both devices... but it kills me to think of the time itll take to input all the values lmfao
@SlowHaste2 жыл бұрын
@@internet_glen I don’t tend to do as much p-locking on the Digitone. I think I would do it a whole lot for sound locks if I was only using the DN, but I don’t have to worry about it so much since I’m only using it for chords/pads/melodies (and bass, occasionally)

It feels more intuitive when I’m able to practice as I build up patterns… but sometimes I’ll go back to an old project and totally forget how I’ve structured a performance :(. Luckily most of it is recorded on video though, so it’s easy enough to reference!
@newflanged_2 жыл бұрын
@@SlowHaste Oh I thought you had a super strict structure for every pattern. We are all mortals then
@SlowHaste2 жыл бұрын
@@newflanged_ I do stick to certain trigs for sounds (kicks on 1, hi-hats on 5, etc.) but for the structure of bringing sounds in and out, I kind of make it up as I go along (both fun and dangerous)!

All jokes aside, you make these two boxes sing. Yes they are great bits of gear, but the user still has a bigger impact on sound than the devices themselves! I know if I had these two beauties, they would sound totally different!

That’s part of the beauty of them, they’re super versatile and flexible!

If I buy a Digitakt, then a Digitone, my partner will think I'm crazy, as in why did you buy the same thing twice! They look expensive too, so it won't fly if I say I got them for $200 each!
