Actually they tried but companies were not ready to come into india. Had it not been for covid even this policy would not have attracted companies. Electronic manufacturing is a very complex set up. Not that easy to attract companies

Congress govt had an opportunity in 2011 when intel wanted to set up a plant in india but they were not ready to subsidize and hence india missed the bus. Anyways let's see what happens ...even with this policy everything is not going to be allright ...but certainly PLI scheme has helped to attract manufacturing.

Indians do not have national leaders with karishma. Modi lives by Ed and CBI and demoralizing elected leaders at regional level and will not last long. Only regional leaders can lead their region as independent country. Delhi Durbar will die out soon. Regional leaders aspirations only will lead people to developed status just like Singapore or Japan South Korea etc. India into many countries then many regional aspirations and many world wide representation and policies
