I can't begin to say how much I like the way you give advice and treat people with respect despite sometimes having to laugh about some of the situations presented to you. It's a great gift keeping a sense of humor without putting down or offending people.

Gayle and Ed, thanks so much for this VERY timely talk. I have bought a new desktop computer, and am faced with culling, sorting, consolidating, copying and transferring digital photos, videos and documents from my laptop. Complicating the sorting and save/delete activity is the fact that this laptop was my only computer through over 4-1/2 years of travel in my small motor home after I retired. So all the photos from my travels are stored on it, after being uploaded from my camera and/or phone to clear space on those devices. So I have a big task ahead of me, though in many ways a pleasurable one. SUGGESTION for the next digital decluttering talk - remind the folks about the usefulness of high-capacity memory "cards" which are inserted into a card reader on the device, and USB memory "sticks" which plug into a USB port. They can be used flexibly for copying files from one device to another, and also for storing files you need to hang on to, but not necessarily store right on your computer. If your devices don't both have a card reader, you can get an adapter into which you put the memory card, and plug the adapter into a USB port. So you can transfer files between a device with a card reader and one without.

MsLeenite hello, I have red your comment and I am too, dealing with thousands of digital photos taken over decades and I m still pondering on how I can get to a manageable amount. Any suggestions?

Serenaif there are programs you can get that remove duplicate phots if that helps. I use a Mac and I found free ones. Other think I did was filter by date and put photos by date into years. Then I went through each year and added event folders, that helped me a bit, and I just did a folder at a time.

Oh my gosh, Gail called me out on the wedding stuff. I made wedding invites for my best friend’s wedding. Let’s just say she forgot to count couples together and we had a few extra left. Kept those for 5years! I was like oh Im not like that anymore, well I just found the fabric from my wedding veil and bridesmaid shawl in my fabric bin from 10yrs ago! Plus all the left over fabric from my sis in laws wedding 3yrs ago. 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️

After spending two weekends sorting through 45000 emails over 7 years I just declared “email bankruptcy “ and deleted everything. If there are open important issues they will resurface anyway

Hi guys! I couldn't be online for the live but I appreciate so much your video dealing with digital decluttering. We all face this challenge, at work and at home. The biggest problem for me are photos. Too many. When something is so big you don't know where to start! Any suggestions?
