I just wanted to express my respect for this professor. I mean, the interest he's putting and the energy he invests on giving this lecture is just worthy of admiration. Very few are those who want their students to get actual knowledge and capabilities.

I know this is lecture 1 of many more but this so far seems very accessible. having a passion for your field and a passion for teaching are two very separate motivations and Prof. Mutlu's work seems to have more than enough of both. Thankyou for making this available to everyone!

I just finished taking a graduate level computer architecture course from a respected tech institute in the States. It was interesting, but it was also outdated gravely. Somebody in the course reviews recommended these lectures as a better use of time. I am one of those people who cannot dedicate fully without a set schedule and a rigorous testing of knowledge. Would ETH Zurich eventually consider having these lectures in an online format with a certification? (I haven't checked if there is already one or not.)

In order to prevent RowHammer. What if we don't place data on victim rows. Means we place at 0 than 2 than 4 and so on. Keeping one empty location in between. In this way our 8GB dram will be equal to 4GB dram.

All on paper, but I'm designing an architecture that is like nothing before! It doesn't even have any cores, and its Physical Threads are unlimited, well every function on the entire hardware has its own Thread, also can be used like a pointer, it doesn't need a clock except for human interactions like audio for example. It doesn't even have an alu, you make your own alu(s) more like Lambda Calculus type of manner. So you want to do 1 million Simultaneous Parallel math calculations, make your function and copy and paste it 1 million times, each one gets its own thread, and you can have them all active at once. I know that sounds like a lie but its not
