_"How do we restore trust?"_ It's quite easy actually. Serve the people by holding authority accountable. In other words: do your job. Stop running errands for the already powerful.

49:55 - I know how to restore trust in each other and in social media (and basically in any other online human interaction - because trust is at the core of everything). I've been trying to tell people for more than 10 years, but nobody's listening. It's not even that hard, it just takes a little bit of work (yes, it's a technical solution, a rating system, that can be applied ontop of current platforms). Everybody is complaining, nobody is willing to do something about it. y'all gonna eat each other alive because you don't know how to collaborate.

Who rates it and how do you ensure the result isn't gamed?

@@captainwin6333 - Everyone does (at least those who want to participate), the results (the history of transactions) and the source code should be open and free. The idea is to build a trust network based on open peer review. Also important: everyone starts from the same point and builds their reputation based on the reviews they receive from their peers, the algorithms that control your feed are local, meaning that you get to decide what you see first and how you prioritize it. These are only some of the characteristics that a social network should have in order to be trustworthy and useful as a information dissemination and decision making tool. This is very important because if someone controls the information you have access to, they control you and your thoughts. "Air does not judge the words that it carries."
