Hi J3. I want to control an ac welder I made using 4 modified microwave oven transformers, People usually use two. I can use a triac and diac ( the ac dimmer circuit scaled for 127V and about 40 amps in the primary coils in parallel all.) Right now I can only see U2b comments and read emails. Could you email me your diagram to see if I can use it ? I can share my welder specs with you. Thanks a lot, josé

Hi, Jose Saldivir, Thanks for feedback. Diac is much like a bidirectional switching diode. It has two terminals, while Triac is much like a transistor swiching for AC current. See this tut for more info: www.electronics-tutorials.ws/power/diac.html. As always feel at ease to contact me!
