@@thefishlockerworkshop Where I live on the med French-Spanish border we don't bother weighing, but that will change. As I don't have a boat I do rock fishing where the water is deep, I have just purchased a mid-priced multipurpose shore & boat fish finder. Many times blanked out & hope this might give me an edge along with fish attractants, baited Sabiki's, sidewinders, & live bait. It's easy to catch multi-varients of what you know as black bream & to the great annoyance of the local inbreds I just put them back, looking for things more exotic. Been really ill for six years & with the help of the Fish Locker family I am getting back in the swing of things. Think the authorities here may allow people on the beach & water next week

- I tried my best to make it as fair as possible removing all of the variables I could. The findings are there for all to see and make their own minds up. :) the most expensive ones were the most accurate at the heavier end of the scale. But for smaller stuff and for scales to just put in your pocket the 25kg Berkley’s are what I’m buying. 👍🏻

Smashin' review John, I have the blue ones. I use mine for weighing my potatoes etc. A gardener from Harrogate uses the blue one too and I've seen him use it to measure the weight of a giant pumpkin which he grew. He could barely lift it so it is a capable and strong scale.Great to see you channel growing mate. Good luck and as always Take care.

Nomad - I have had a few of the cheap ones of eBay before and the only difference is they usually weigh in decimals of a lb. So every 0.1 is actually 1.6oz if that makes sense?
@nomad7412

@@thefishlockerworkshop Sure it does john. It's an easy calc though as all you need to know is the 0.1=1/10 and 1/10 of 16oz = 1.6 = Living through imperial measurements, then decimal had it's benefits don't you think? One thing comes to mind though. Can you give an estimated time when you will be doing a live stream in your next normal video, so I can set my alarm. Great review, I bought the cheap Berkley fishing gear scales, just for the fact I didn't want any bulk. In my opinion they worked out of the box and I just wanted something simple and pocket size. Not too worried about 100% accuracy as long as it gave me an idea of how big the fish was. Thanks for posting this comparison. This is a great video and I'm very tempted go for those cheap scales. Since watching this video I've just got my ngt digital scales out just to see how good there are when weighing lighter weights so I've got a 2.2lb of sugar and it registered 2.3lb that's weighing it with a plastic bag. So would you say these scales I've got pretty accurate just 1oz out but with the bag I think mine are pretty good after all.

You do realise the weights might not be as stated. During the production process, there's often a small margin of error. This can lead to slight variations in the actual weight of dumbbells. These amateur tests are all well and good, but frankly are flawed. I had both my 60lb and 120lb dial scales serviced recently and still they both record two 15kg weights I have at 15.3kg and 15.2kg respectively. The fact they'd been serviced by Reuben Heaton and both gave the exact readings tells me that the scales are accurate and the weights are slightly heavier than their claimed weight.
