It's a rarity to find a misprint in Loeb but I'd like to point out that in Goold's translation of Propertius, page 368 has 'proelis' instead of 'proelia' in Book II, line 4.

Hi Chris, many thanks for your close reading and for your interest in the Loeb Classical Library. We've logged this error for correction in a future reprint of the volume. Be well!

You're welcome. I am in the process of translating all four books of Propertius into rhyming couplets and am using Goold's translation alongside the Latin. Ten and a half poems to go! My one published work is Juvenal (Mellen Press, 2010).

Looks great - especially as an aid to prose composition - but the subscription price for individuals is a bit steep. At least, for those of us (like me) foolish enough to have studied Classics!

I really hope that this will be available to individuals and not just institutional subscribers; I am so excited by this!

Why not in small compact and thinpaper bible-format? It could fit much better in my pocket.

I hope it will be launched soon!

I just started using this. I noticed that each "page" of the book I was on was a different "internet page". How will affect data usage? Other than that enjoyed it!

Great project. If the digital versions are a good bit cheaper than the hard copies, it might just be the thing to tempt me into finally buying a tablet computer.

Excuse my diffident, non native English, but is it possible to download the books so as to read them on a tablet, once one has bought the subscription? Respectfully,

Hi there! We don't offer Loeb volumes as downloadable ebooks, but the digital Loeb website has been designed to work on tablets as well as full-sized computer monitors. You will need access to the internet, though.

You can look on the web and find free PDF or ebook versions of many of these.

"affordable"

Not affordable at all! Perhaps for the American market, not for Greece for example!

Greetings HUP, I despise Kindles, I-pads, etc. I hope this so-called progress does not mean who will no longer be publishing the beloved print editions on real, eye soothing paper? Yours in Christ, Chris C.

The printed books are not going anywhere. We will continue to publish new works and revised translations in print, and will maintain print availability of the entire library. If the digital Loeb Classical Library doesn't interest you then you need never give it another thought!

American - so it will probably cost a fortune. "making all that is important in Greek and Latin literature available to the next generation of vacuous neo-con ideologues" Still, I live in hope, as it looks like it could be rather good.
