back in the days at a gig, I wanted to play raygun, as I bought the plate for that track. I didn't listen to the "B" side. So at the gig I accidentally flipped the plate and instead queued this one. There wasn't much time left to queue raygun instead. So I mixed it quickly. and will NEVER forget the reaction of the crowd. instantly this song became of my finest experience in my dj career long ago.

The greatest d&b track of all time, compasses everything. And during the time of its release, such a ground breaking project, still sounds unreal even in this day and age.

From my days as a selector and singer for my soundsystem in 1979 the sample sounds like Michael Palmer, Echo Minott..So from heavy dublate business to seriously mash up a dance Rastafari 78' is significant because it was in 78' where the best Reggae soundsystems were rockin the house with the same heavy duty bassline niceness all over London back then, Shepherd Bush, Paddington, Stonebridge, Harlesden, Wembley, West, South, East London. Soundsystem like Stereograph , Java High Power, Coxsone, Alpha International, Tippertone, Sledgehammer, Killamanjaro, Volcano etc regularly wreck a dance. Last but not least i personally will give Digital the biggest compliment i could possibly give to a drum n bass artist...i'd imagine If KING TUBBY was alive this is the kind of Drum n bass / jungle he most certainly would have made and produced. Understand this, Real Drum n bass come from Roots Rock Reggae and nothing else..

Very nicely put, sir or madam. And what I always lived about jungle music is that it's OUR music, our invention. British. Whatever that might mean ex colonies or whatever. Jungle brings black white and everyone else together without pretension. It's just about the music! Love and respect from another jungle DJ x

if you’re interested, the sample is from ‘africa dub - sugar minott’, version of ‘africa is the black man’s home’.

djninth Just read that article. I'm surprised Burial would mention someone so little known. Would love to see a Burial + Digital collab, especially after Digital's recent string of constant badass releases. I don't see how either of them could ever say no.

Why? Burial grew up on jungle and early drum and bass. Digital is a legend in those genres.
