Module 2 Math Question 21 was on my May 4th SAT with just slightly different values.
@OverclockingCowboy4 ай бұрын
You have done the last question intuitively (time limitation). Since “a” is not equal to one, it is factored out in your beginning equation a(x-7)(x+3) a(x^2 - 4x - 21) = ax^2 + bx + c a - 4a = (a + b) -3a = (a+b) a = -(a+b)/3 Thus, “a” is greater than one if (a+b) < -3. In order for “a” to be an integer, (a+b) needs to be a multiple of 3.

It would have been better if you actually solved these without already knowing these answers, because it seems pretty obvious that you already knew them given how easily you were jumping on right answers without actually proving why the other ones were wrong , especially for hard reading module. Still A Great Video though🙌

It's a clever clue to the test takers that there's 20 minnutes of time left to do 10 questions in english if you skip to the grammar part after the 5th question and then do the rest.

The CONDITION for question 16 (Math Module 2) is ambiguous. It should be “among trees that are 20 feet or taller.” If they like to use the word GIVEN, they can say “given that the selection is for trees that are 20 ft or taller.” The question is: What is the probability of selecting a maple tree, given that the tree is 20 ft or taller? THE TREE refers to A MAPLE TREE in the question. The question is really asking for a maple tree that is 20 ft or taller. The answer for that question is 45/164. Luckily, it is not one of the choices.

I am very confused by the question in 36:32. The second sentence doesn't make sense: "Calle paired excerpts of these conversations with photographs to powerful effect in her exhibition The Blind". It sounds very "off" to me. I guess it can be considered an independent sentence, but I don't think it conveys any meaning. Am I wrong?
@Medicinal_Herbs6 ай бұрын
Im no English professional, but "Calle paired excerpts blah blah blah to powerful effect" makes sense. the words after excerpts make it look like its wrong but the "to powerful effect" goes back to the excerpts she paired, saying that they had a powerful effect when she paired them in her exhibition The Blind. I hope my explanation made sense and good luck on your sat
@ggmaster91986 ай бұрын
@@Medicinal_Herbs The main problem for me is that they did not put a verb after to. For example, to achieve a powerful effect.
@preppros6 ай бұрын
Hi, it's 100% an independent clause. Most likely the use of what I call reference words "of these conversations" is throwing your ear off. If you have not yet, I would check out my free trial as it covers this concept in depth and hopefully will help you better identify independent clauses moving forwards. The verb in the sentence is "paired." There is no need for a second verb.

@@Medicinal_Herbs so is calle pairing "excerpts with photographs" to "powerful effect"? because otherwise it seems grammatically wrong, it should have been "Calle paired excerpts with photographs to powerfully effect..."

hey man I was doing this paper and I got perfect on the first Reading writing module but got like 8 wrong in the second one. I really struggled with time management is there any advice you could give me to make my timing better? how much time should I spend per question maximum? Your answer would help a lot taking test May 4
@preppros6 ай бұрын
Hi, It's a bit of a tricky question to answer, but I would recommend taking the second module as I did by doing the word in context, then standard english conventions, then transitions, and notes and then back to Reading. If you want to be able to answer the remaining reading questions for most students coming back to those with 18-19 minutes works very well. Second module is significantly more difficult across all question types and finishing it in time also requires being able to quickly recognize question types and not spend much time on the word in context questions. If you don't know words, your'e not going to magically figure them out in the middle of the test so keep it moving through those.

At 1:51:12 why did you add 7/4+15/4. When we take it to the other side shouldn't we be subtracting it?
@preppros6 ай бұрын
Hi, nice catch! That was a mistake but completely inconsequential to the question as we were only solving for the slopes being equivalent so the portion making up the y-intercepts does not affect the solution.

at 35:55 how did you find the answer so quickly ?

Hi, I think you're referring to question 17 as your timestamp was a little bit off. It's a specific rule that I teach around when to place commas to signal whether a name should or should not take commas, so I was able to immediately identify which answer choice is correct based off of the descriptive element before the name. Also easy to knock off two other answer choices because they were identical.
