I think I have some answers for you. The tachometer signal has to be negative going pulses. Mine starts showing rpm's when the signal is -2 volts. I've taken it all the way down to -15v without problems. I suspect the input impedance is on the order of 10KΩ so it doesn't take much of a signal to drive it. It also works fine is the pulse train goes plus and minus. From my calculations the tach will read correctly if there is a pulse for every revolution of the engine. i.e. 167Hz = 10,000 rpm. You figured out how to get into the circumference settings by being in the b-L display mode and pushing both the SEL and SET buttons for 3 seconds and releasing them. I think the 4 digit number is the circumference in mm. If your tire is more than 2999mm, then add a second magnet to the opposite side and set the circumference value to half of the actual value. Be aware that the speed sensor will not sense the magnet if the wrong pole is towards the magnet. You can test which side of the magnet should face the sensor by waving the magnet in front of the sensor while watching the speed display on the unit. You're right! There are many variants of this universal meter speedometer out there! They all look the same and basically work the same, but there seem to be several firmware versions that all use different methods of getting into the settings menus / setting parameters. It's frustrating!

Anyone that may not have figured it out, you need to put the odometer onto the trip function and then hold down the left button to get into the menu...it will ask for id which is supposed to be 750 as default and then hold left button again and it will go to tire circumference and then hold left again to get to pulses for speed sensor and then to factor which i assume is engine stroke? Dont know about last one though

I know it's an old video but just thought I'd try to help others I've spent most of the day with the same issue and finally figured it out for some reason it won't let you enter the menu to set up wheel size and other settings etc when you have your permanent live memory wire connected! You have to disconnected the permanent live memory wire, then hold the left button down and turn ignition on then the menu will appear once set up connect back up your permanent live before switching ignition off,

Try press and hold then open the ignition. I have the same speedo and its working . The red and black wires. One of them is + direct to the. Battey . And the other is on the ignition lock. And theres a setting there for the rpm if - or + your rpm signal is .speed sensor and fuel gauage.

I had the same issue on my Reiju. had to use a wheel size calculator to get the right digits to input in the menu to enable the speedometer to calculate the correct speed readings.

i have the same Dashboard you have sir, i install it on my underbone motorcycle, for the speedometer calibration, you need to turn off your key then hold the left side botton 4sec before turning the key on, it will show the first 3 digits which is for speedometer, the 4th one is for the Rpm calibration then the last is for fuel level maybe, for the RPM sensor, you need to use the yellow/blue wire then tap in either from the pulser(blue/white) on the stator or the charging wire(white wire)also in stator, i wasted whole day just to figure everything out especially that damn fuel gauge

@@janeaustria5257 you just need one wire from the whole tank assembly, if I'm not mistaken its colored Blue/white, you need to disregard the other two wires, and also that blue/white wire corresponds to blue/white wire at the dashboard assembly

One of the wire is need to be connected at one of the terminal of the ignition coil. That how the rpm gauge work. Speedometer sensor is nothing to do with the rpm gauge.

Hi, can someone let me know the position of the wires in the plug? Sometimes, here's the problem. The wires can be swapped in the sensor plug. On the instrument itself, the following wires are provided: Yellow = speed sensor plus Green = speed sensor minus Black = Speedsensor signal Is this also with you ??

Also problems with this. Speedometer hall sensor does not work. I do not know if the problem lies on the cockpit or on the sensor. Does anyone know if this can be measured? What voltage is generated between the speedsensor signal + and signal -? What is the output signal? Cockpit wire connection: Black/white: sensor signal Green: sensor signal negative Yellow: sensor positive The cockpit works very well. Only my speedometer gives problems. Thx

Hold the left boton for 10 sec and turn on the ignition and you will go to its settings, I have the same speedometer

The rpm works with a positive signal. You have to connect it to the trigger of the CDI

Ex. 1 pulse per 1 revolution (1P1R) 1 spark per 1 rpm of the crankshaft (usually for 1 cylinder 2 stroke bikes/ for 1 cyl 4T bike it will be 2pulse1rpm). You need to figure out what is the spark mechanism of your bike by knowing how many cylinders you have and if its a 2 stroke or a 4 stroke

I found the solution for this model. You have to be switch off then you must have pressed the left button and switch on the key at the same time. You must continue to press the button until the demo stop and you will be at settings menu. It's a little tricky and i had headache until i figure out

As far as the gear selector go's, your bikes old cluster had to have that feature before, you cant just add it because there won't be a cable for it.

hello Nojus. i guess you could? i have seen several using the speedometer on their mopeds, such as Yamaha DT 50 and such, as long as you hook the RPM wire around the coil cable going to you're Spark plugs. put the odometer on the front or back wheel, does not matter as long as you get the correct dimensions on the wheel, inside the menu :) Good luck, man. high five!

The fuel meter works by sensing resistance between the fuel sense line and common / battery negative. Full is 6Ω to 10Ω, Empty is > 90Ω. It basically uses a 100Ω linear potentiometer connected to a float inside your fuel tank.

Same question, I have a 3 wire sending unit on my tank, ground, blue/why and yellow/blk - only 1 wire for the signal on the display, how do you wire this?

If it's a resistive sending unit, use an ohm meter to measure from your ground wire to the other two wires. If you're lucky, the highest reading will be about 100Ω. Next, if your tank is more than half full, find the wire combination that is less that 50Ω. If it's less than half full, find the combination that reads more than 50Ω. One wire goes to GND and the other goes to the yel/wht wire on the meter.

It took me a minute to figure out the tachometer wire. I'm running this on a 1986 Honda VT 500. There's four wires that come off of the spark unit for the spark plugs. There's one on my bike that's bright yellow. Solid yellow. And that is what you need to hook up. It goes to what they call the rotational rate wire. It should be blue and yellow. That's it for the tachometer. I want to know how to shut the gas gauge off because I don't have a gas gauge in my tank. Any input on that?

Then you would have to take the magnet on å small spinning disk with the magnet on it, and run it the total milage by "hand". Hope this gave you an answer :) high five!✋

Speedo Junkye Hey Dude! Have you placed the magnets correctly according to the sensor? Theres North and South poles 😉 and keep the distance between magnet and sensor at aprox. 1 MM i found the best reading.

That Dude Well the sensor is facing the magnets with magnets little circle inside the casing facing the sensor if you know what i mean, Is that the wrong way around? Otherwise magnets are defo 1mm apart in distance to sensor

Speedo Junkye hey dude. Try to take one of the magnets off, and the sensor aswell, switch the magnet rapidly in front of the sensor (Both sides of the magnet) and try to see if you can get a reading? If you get a reading, try to either put in 3 magnets, as i did, download GPS speedometer, and change the numbers inside the speedometer to match youre speed. Mine is showing 10km/h more than ny real speed, but i left it like that pusposly

That Dude Will try that in a bit. I acctualy didnt fit few wires from the speedo, but I doubt that should make a difference, Didnt plug 2 round heads(dont even know what they are) coming from speedo seperately, fuel line, oil line, and no gears just hooked N up.
