Unfortunately, breaking is the number one reason why prices in the hobby, no matter the sport, are ridiculous and why they are going to auction for this. You said it yourself in the video "...we'll buy our cases but we don't want to do it that way." That sentence is the reason they are going to try doing it this way, because they can and they will still sell. I understand you gotta do you and make your living, and I will give you props as being one of the most honest people in the card collecting hobby and will point out scummy practices when you see them, and that is awesome. You are also one of my favorites to watch open some packs. But its just tough to hear you correctly call out Panini and Topps and Fanatics for their practices, but then just turn around and contribute to the problem. No ill will, this hobby has become a business and it is what it is, and I guess I'd rather have more honest people in it than the scummy cheats that are everywhere. But I wish breaking could go back to just the Flawless, National Treasures, etc. of the hobby. The boxes no regular person was ever gonna be able to buy.

I really want to rip one of myself. I see 2024 Select Hobby is 195-200 on Ebay which is a better deal than the current MSRP Photogenic took all the good art style away from Select. 23 Select has ICONIC imagery. 3 Count is cheaper than Ebay at the moment. IDK if i really want to rip NT / Flawless though.

Someone explain what the box battle exactly means? I thought maybe like two people buy the cards, and the person with the better box keeps all but from watching a few of these, that seems to not be the case cause RGL talks about cards he's giving the other person. Maybe it's the winner gets jusr the best card from the other persons box? Fill me in! The whole 'ask the audience' thing can be unfair with streaming cause of course they wanna support their streamer but, I'd assume people aren't just throwing away money by paying for boxes RGL opens, just to get nothing :/ P.S. I know we generally all agree but, Fanatics should be illegal, they're operating as a monopoly on sports wear, cards, everything. That's supposed to be illegal... but I won't get into that further here... it just sucks like, billionaires using their money to control things we love. They're overpaying by 10 times the value for the rights to stuff like WWE so much that it makes it profitable for WWE to give ONLY THEM the rights, rather than allow like 5 companies to all have the rights. Still makes WWE twice the money for selling the rights.
