Just purchased one of these and could not be happier, first mix sounded like it was out of a club. If you are planning on manual beatmatching DO NOT I repeat do not buy a pioneer entry level controller, the pitch faders on them are so small and sensitive it's a beyond a joke and the DDJ-SB3 doesn't even have a cue mix button for mixing through your headphone late at night, thank you numark!!!

just got that baby in and wondering about the latency? cant find any specific ASIO drivers and dont wanna use asio4all or derivates - the WDM latency is 21ms - that is like total crap. my first controller was the hercules DJ impule 200 and even that thing had legit ASIO drivers like an USB interface. i got 4ms out of that little thing. am i missing something? before that i had the mixstream pro mostly used in standalone - but later as controller and that asio latency was very nice - so i thought this would be the sam ein a more compact solution. oh dear :D
@digitaldjtips2 жыл бұрын
Just use whatever ASIO driver is recommended to you in the setup process. Yes, WDM is rubbish, hence why Windows DJ software usually recommends you use an ASIO driver.

All the software makers have a minimum spec page on their websites.
@mspirit4 жыл бұрын
We often view those controllers as "beginner decks" but one of the things I've realized with time is that it's the exact opposite. This the type of portable device an experienced DJ can use cause he's already comfortable playing club material. Unless you have decided you will never play in a club, getting a controller that you wouldn't bring with you or doesn't have a proper CDJ layout and logic, you'll be completely lost when you get in front of the crowd. The problem is that those type of controllers are the most expensive ones. It's not like a guitar that only differs in quality. The all playing feel will be radically different! Here's the thing, what I'm seeing on this controller has a lot of red flags, stuff that will create bad habits. So if you are a beginner, my advise is get a DDJ. The more you can spend the better, you're new? Get the rekordbox version and save time by managing your tracks with a program that is flash drive friendly. You have no familiarity with a software there's no point in following brand loyalty. All those softwares do the job anyway. Now if you're thinking, well I'm just getting excited with those youtube videos I want to try but don't want to spend the cash: FIND CLASSES NEAR YOU. And I mean a proper school that can have you taste a little bit of everything. Turntables, CDJs, controllers launchpads... How will you know what gear suits you if you've never tried them? You might think you're into house, then have lots of fun scratching and realize you'd be happier with turntables playing hip-hop. It is totally worth it. Once you have the experience you'll be ready to spend money and feel happy with your purchase on the long run.
@digitaldjtips4 жыл бұрын
...but the sheer amount you can do for a tiny amount of money with modern gear is amazing. DJing is changing and many DJs will never use club gear, and won’t feel they’ve got any less fun from their hobby because of it. Totally agree with you though that any DJ with experience can play on anything - that ethos is at the heart of how we teach and why we teach counting and manual beatmixing early in our courses.
@davidfuller74424 жыл бұрын
It's only $200. I started with turntables when that was your only option and that cost a whole lot more to set up than $200. Plus, it seems as if you're assuming everyone wants to be a club DJ. Mobile DJing is probably what most DJ's do. One, because it pays better on average and two, it pays better. : )

If this controller your featuring is RCA output to an RCA input/Amplifier/Speakers , then that would be a big improvement. Finally the price you state is in what currency ? U.S , CAN , AUST dollar ?

@dannyboyex4 жыл бұрын
@@gelatinous6915 it was only standard for modular set ups like cdjs and record players. Most controllers over the past 10 years have been had pitch faders on the outer edges of the controllers. I think this obsession with trying to mimic club setups (read pioneer) hampers innovation.

This is something that has always divided people. Personally? I don't think there's ever a definitive answer, it is a case-by-case basis.
