Split the bill with my younger brother to get the game in the last week of summer in 1994 before school started. Our folks limited our gametime. Beat it back in November that year but was totally blown away when I went back and discovered sherbert island and then got all the treasures. Great replay value.

That donkey kong game at the end was my favourite on the system. Mario had a bunch of cool moves and jump abilities and many puzzles could be beaten by simply taking advantage of them which was gratifying. His animations were also cute and fun like the way he either rolls or flats his face on the floor depending on the height. I only wished they somehow included a level editor like what they did later with the mini mario game on the DS.

I've actually been looking for a Gameboy game to take on a staycation. Going back and forth between Wario Land 3 and Gargoyle's Quest, both if which I've never played.

Macross Scrambled Valkyrie on super famicom is one of my favourite hori shooters of all time, its up there with Eliminate Down on the Megadrive.

One cool super gameboy secret thats long forgotten is that the gameboy version of space invaders actually contains part of the snes rom for space invaders dx which can only be played on the super game boy.

1:19:30 I have to disagree. There are NES games on Steam, which come with an emulator and the game uses the same constraints as any original NES game. Steam has all kinds of games and something for every niche. There are plenty of niche gamer and Steam and also people who'd play new games for old consoles. I can very much see how this GB game could find fans on Steam too

Damn a battle toads made as a god of war type of game would be amazing. The original god of war style with two player. Or even the new god of war single player would be so sick. Anything would have been better than what they gave up with their more kiddie version of battle toads.

@@DigitalFoundry If it helps, the "persist_app" link to your stream reads "This video requires payment to watch". I guess KZbin is treating it like one of their official streamed movies, which you have to rent or watch with ads. Don't worry. I'm sure my newer laptop will play it. It's just trapped by a Windows 10 feature update :-)
