If you reversed the hoops, and soldered the open sides to two separate wires, and ensured the ends did not connect together, you might have a passable loop-yagi antenna for certain frequencies. Lots of these designs have the major flaw that they are either shorted across the connector, or not isolating and connecting the right elements together into groups.

There are questions that remain unanswered about this contraption. the wires are all hinged together, which makes the output doubtful for me, and no explanations for the exact measurements of the materials used in constructing this antenna.

I hope my comment is not assumed inappropiate. KZbin had some bad dinner last night I think. I received several suggestions of these fake antennas. It looks like a loop yagi with a reflector, but it isn't. It will receive very strong stations just as any piece of wire. A simple quarter wave GPA will be better. Even when the loops where carefully designed to be at near resonance, the antenna doesn't work as the coupling towards the cablle will not benefit from the energy harvested by the loop elements. So, nice artwork, but useless for TV reception compared to a well designed quarter wave GPA (with the sloping radials).

Sculpture. I see no measurements, during assembly or after assembly using a VNA to show this does anything precision. Anything you're picking up with a homemade antenna like this is luck at best. It is creative. I give it that.

прежде чем снимать такие ролики, автору не мешало бы почитать теорию построения антенн, сделать расчеты на ту частоту на которой она должна работать, а уж потом что то делать. с таким де успехом можно воткнуть вместо данной антенны кусок проволоки и в условиях сильного сигнала этот кусок будет принимать не хуже этой бесполезной конструкции
