These are a gem and still sound good. This was the Headrush in it's day, a true pioneer. The first to integrate high quality rack sounds in a foot switch format. Love my RP1.

I bought one new, still have it. As a 20 year old in '93, I'd sit for hours with this and a headset every night......I'm feeling I wanna bust 'er outta storage!

I've owned my RP-1 since 1996. It's a very good sounding unit. With these older units, you have to work on them to get good sounds, unlike today's units where they get you there 80% . It doesn't have the bells and whistles of today's multi effects units. My pedalboard is ; Decidel Eleven Loop Expander, Digitech RP-12, BBE STOMP SONIC, RP-1 and then a Mosky Pure Buffer and then a Digitech 2112 SGS. Many guitarists thought I had more modern gear, when I let them see my pedalboard and Rack system.

Yes you're right, vintage gear often sounds better. The RP1 is really good and can still be widely used like you do it. Thank you for your comment !

Hello! How do you suggest to connect the RP1 straight into amp input or other ways like straight into power amp return or like you do chaining it to other pedals (If I understood well..)? I have combos, one jet city head and a rack system too :) what a nostalgia of those days :)
@diaryofanaxeman5392 жыл бұрын
@@massimilianoforlani Some people find the overdrives and distortions to be "hallow" , if that's the case if you use the RP-1, add an overdrive or distortion pedal thru the effects loop. A BBE Stomp Sonic pedal will definitely add definition.

@@massimilianoforlani With my set up, it sounds like an Amp, thanks to some VHT Valvulators 1's 12ax7 tube. What kind of amplifier are you using ?

@@diaryofanaxeman539 thanks! I’m experimenting with different solutions…for example putting the rp1 Into an old Marshall 5213 mosfet twin reverb combo as simple pedalboard for adding colours connecting her in front of amp input like a pedal , at same time I l’m curious about how could be connecting the rp1 into Marshall’s fx return jack only using the combo’s speakers and power amp section leaving to rp1 all the tone shaping … :) According to your experience which choice you suggest ? Which amp (if any) you use with rp1 ?

If you haven't already got a reply to this ... according to the Service Manual, it is 20-bit.
