The Whammy DT can actual change the tunning of your guitar in 1/2 steps either up or down in pitch. It also does everything the regular Whammy does. The regular Whammy only does pitch bends or harmonies.

Depends on the volume. If your in the bedroom playing low it bugs the shit out of me. I can feel the difference with my hands on rare occasions. Ultimately though at any real world volume level you cant tell at all. The drop tune settings really just add a whole new dimension to what people have been doing with the whammy and octave effects for years now. Youve heard alot of these tones on dozens of albums and might not even know it, the dt is just alot better at tracking than older pedals.

Actually there is another feature in the 5 dude. It has a chord tracking feature also. I own the DT and love it. But for those who want cleaner chord tracking then the 5 does it much better oh also a toggle switch allows you to switch between the newe tracking or original version. I prefer the glitchy sounding tracking from the 1 to DT models :)

@101DIGITAL010 I just bought more so for the tuning option (so I wouldn't literally have to take 4 guitars to a gig) and I think it is fantastic. The tracking is perfect...if you get into the lower tuning (closer to an octave) it gets a little off...but just slightly..still way usable.

@MujahidGodstruth11 жыл бұрын
Dude I've been looking up for the same thing...have seen that function on ZOOM G5 but u gotta twist ur ankle left or right which i think not very comfortable. So far I've not found any pedal that goes up and down concurrently I dunno y they don't make em...if they do maybe whammy bars would go out of bizness lol!
@CharlesEBusa11 жыл бұрын
I own a korg AX3000G and I found a whammy pedal patch. The problem is that it kind of kills your tone, it doesn't sound really good in front of the crunch channel of my amp, and more importantly, even if I do set it up to go both ways you need to make sure your pedal is half cocked or it'll sound out of tune and messy. They should build one with a spring that leaves the pedal half cocked accurately (pitch=+0) so that you can dive bomb and go up in pitch. So yeah, it's not perfect
@MujahidGodstruth11 жыл бұрын
Yeah thats more or less what I was thinking about something with a neutral point and that can go both up pitch and down pitch and would center neutral when release. Actually if u are in the electronics engineering or know people who are into that...a few kids at the local University have done this long ago for self use...but I dunno y till this date no major companies have come out with a simple but THE whammy pedal that works just like the bar.
@CharlesEBusa11 жыл бұрын
I don't either... It sounds so obvious that you'd want to be able to go both ways. They could even make one in a flat U shape, with springs on either side, kind of like a seesaw. It would come back to neutral when you released it and maybe you could even do tricks like flutters by barely jerking it up or down with your foot.
@MujahidGodstruth11 жыл бұрын
Hehehe! yeah flutter why didn't I think of that...considering limited availability gee i think thats a tall order lol ! :-D.

If you used the whammy you could maybe split the difference maybe tune down a full step and use the whammy to go the rest of the way. The whammy is pretty good going down to C from a standard tuning, but it depends on how picky the end user. I use mine to go down a full step and I am fine with it, it "feels" good to me if you go down to to "C" you might get a little latency but it is still way better than anything else I have tried.
