To help ith balance on stairs and ramps, give the foot base a slight curve so your step rolls from 'heel' to 'toe'. it only takes a small curve, and negates the need to balance on a corner. An added benefit is it makes walking more natural as you can roll your step instead of having to lift and plant.

I suggest that since your sort of experimentations try the same way on padding as what is done with the Lenox Hill derotation knee brace. This way there is less irritation to the wearer of your digi stilts. Although using springs might be a touch better or even using bungee cords on your stilts!

Would there be any way to add suspension or spring motion to these? Deer move in a springy, bouncy way, and I was hoping to be able to replicate that, both because I find it asthetically pleasing and because it looks like so much fun.

Hi, are you still taking commissions for stilts? and if so what would you be charging?

My usual rate is $200 per pair, plus you pay for shipping. I shipped a pair all the way to Erie, Pennsylvania from Costa Mesa, California, and it was $59.29 for Standard Post. If you are in California, I have to add $16 sales tax, but the post office should charge less. However, I just started a new day job, and I have to put all I've got into it for the next few weeks, so I can't possibly get a pair built and shipped out in October or November 2016. Hopefully by December/January I will be able to keep the day job and the night job at the same time. Know what I mean?

+Eureka Confounding I do actually, I'm working two jobs at the moment while working on opening an etsy shop. Also, I'm in no rush as itd be for the spring anyways and I have a set of wooden clunkers atm. I'm in New England by the way so it would probably be similar shipping. suplex11 the higher the degree is the less likely you can balance. Plus that is a very comfortable angle that make it easer to walk on stilts then just normal walking

Actually a good point. They used to use practical effects and costumes a lot, today they look ridiculous, but if they did it with today's technology, we'd have very believable costumes for sure.

I would need them for a quite special costume, which will be worn on different terrains such as grass, gravel, sand and asphalt. Is it possible to walk over those terrains with them? I will have to wear them for at least one up to three hours, how comfortable are they? Sorry for my English and I'm really looking forward to hear from you!

It does take a lot of practice to build the muscles in your legs for any pair of stilts if you want to wear them for 3 hours. Send me your approximate height and weight, please.
