DIIV Releases New Album Frog in Boiling Water | Who is the band DIIV?

I listened to it on Friday . I took a toke at 9 pm , put on my headphone and listened to it alone as I usually do laying down. It's Deceiver 2.0. It's dark. Deceiver had these guitar lines. Frog is more dense,darker and very Pixies guitar sound twang. I like it

I love all the albums. But Deceiver is an all time fave at this point. I love the tandem vocal approach they’ve embraced since Colin started writing more. Love the heaviness too. Frog is steadily growing as I digest it. I just saw them for the third time. Such a great live band.

Great video! I absolutely love Oshin and Is the Is Are. You could say I prefer the earlier sound overall. However, Like Before You Were Born on Deceiver is my favorite Diiv song. That song is next level to me.

It took me 2 listens to fully digest the album. Definitely loved it after the second listen.

I’m still warming up to it. It seems less “eventful” than the 1st 2. I haven’t really consumed the lyrics yet either. Just the sounds. Definitely more in the vein of Deceiver, sonically. What were your fav songs from it?

@@WoogTalksMusic My fav track is Everyone Out, by a mile. I also like Little Birds and Brown Paper Bag. There's some interesting rhythms as well. I can't tell if there's time signature shenanigans or just really clever patterns, but it sounds like they're sneaking bars of 6/4 into 4/4 songs... or maybe certain verses are in 11/8?

Way more into the heavier/shoegaze of the last two albums, all four albums are good though.
