Every song on absolutely has been my favorite at some point but this one has always hit the hardest for me. Might be my favorite song ever.

Took a shot at transcribing Noah's beautiful poem. Thanks for posting this video Andy! Noah’s Poem: I was gonna run last night. I was gonna run and keep on running. Go to the Iowa border. I drove all night with the windows down. And the old man’s two blocks flapping on the seat beside me. Rained the whole time, never stopped raining. I saw myself in the windshield, saw my eyes and my face. I studied that face and saw I was looking at another man. So I could see his whole face behind him. Like a mummy’s face. Like he was alive and dead at the same time in the same breath. And I watched him breath in the windshield as if he was frozen in time and each breath marked him. Marked him without him knowing. But his face changed. His face became his father’s face. The same eyes, the same nose, the same mouth, the same breath. Then a father’s face became a grandfather’s face and it went on like that. Just… changing. Clear on back to faces I no longer knew but still recognized. Recognized the bones underneath. The same eyes, the same nose, the same mouth, the same breath. Followed my family clear into Iowa. Straight back into the corn belt, Frederick. Straight back as far as they’d take me. Then it dissolved… it all dissolved. Just like that…

although a beautiful monologue as performed by Noah, the original playwright is Sam Shepard from the play "Buried Child"
