I saw him in first film that I watched in my life. He was singing suhana safar aur ye mausam hasin..and instantly I felt as if my father is there on the screen. As on date he is at my father's place. I came across some movies and was shocked to hear cheap, vulgar, derogatory terms, third grade language used. Just to attract audience. Why ???? They should strongly focus on Art and Art must be respected. Must be honored, must be elevated- not degraded. It is so pathetic that I haven’t heard a single song ( composed & sung) for more than a decade that I can say that this particular song is going to be an immortal number and it will last for ever !

Mohd Rafi is bigger. There are lots of actors as almost great as Dilip Kumar, e.g Sanjeev Kumar. But nobody comes close to Mohd Rafi. His singing was at another level. Most often these actors whether it's Dilip Kumar, Rajendra Kumar, Shammi Kapoor or any other actor from that era, achieved their popularity because of the songs they had given their lip-sync to. Imagine that era without Rafi, these actors wouldn't not have great voice! They would not have great references for depicting romance in their songs/romatic scenes. Rafi's songs and the romance he was able to emote, through his songs and voice modulation, definitely helped ALL of these actors. Imagine KL Sehgal singing a romantic song and Dilip Kumar is giving his lip-sync.

I have been a fan of Dikip Kumar and none else in Bollywood. No other actors could match his dignity, eloquence, wisdom and integeity. He is way beyond anybody's reach. Other super stars look a little cheaper, greedy and less dedicated to their professions. Dilip Kumar's command over languages like English and Urdu was incredible. His English language was comparatively modern for that time.
