He will lose his sikh fan following if he takes off turban. He knows there are plenty of sardaars who just don't follow but worship him like god. They consider him role model. I saw some turban wearing sikh guy saying on social media that he will commit suicide if diljit ever does a film without turban. He knows his sikh fans will totally boycott him once he takes off turban for a bollywood film. So he is only concerned about that. Not that he is proud to be a sikh or whatsoever..

I watched the interview. there were 3 points i liked the most: 1. He said he accepts he has cut beard, so he is not a complete sikh 2. Will not remove his turban 3. Sare jahaan to acha 'Bharat' desh sada. choosing 'Bharat' in place of 'Hindustan' was the smart choice.

@@shreya4011 , BHA means light and RAT means someone who has devoted his/her entire life for that light. It basically means, the seeker of ultimate truth. So this is most secular name of India. Whereas 'Hindustan' is not. 1. Hindu relates to the religion. 2. World Hindu is farsi word for theif also. Rest, i like India to be called Bharat than Hindustan.
