"I wonder how Russell smells..", the female art student in front of us in the row to the gate on the Cologne concert '95 mused to her compagnion... Fans in the front row of the stage waving their plastic encapsulated vinyl singles and long players from the early 70s during the concert. "BEST BAND IN THE WORLD"-T-Shirts on sale in the hall. A typical SPARKS overseas-gig, I guess:-)! Great to shake Russell's hand there.

I love the girl in the opening of this video. Lucky enough to be right there during the fade-in that begins the show and you're turned the wrong way. 💃

Love this live version.....I love the original but like most of their 1980s stuff it sounds very dated to that period, as does almost everything synth from that time.....this 90s version really drives home how good this song was and still is....brilliant vocal and all round sound.....what a great band Sparks are.

I much prefer the 80s synths to 90s synths. Personal preference though.

Yes, not the let loose kind of autience. Moderate enthusiasm there.

I love Sparks, but this era was very poor, especially the dreadfully poor drumming! How Tammy Glover ever got to play with Sparks is beyond me! RIP Dinky Diamond.

It was Chrissie Haydn playing not Tammy Glover. Chrissie wasn't a drummer ! hence the basic use of the drums. Tammy Glover played on the album Balls , Beethoven and several others. Nobody could replace Dinky Diamond , why on earth no other band snapped him up after Sparks, is beyond me .

Sparks had great skills, technique, enthusiasm... But no talent or genius ... Imho

Alejandro, respectfully, I beg to differ. Their flair for original melody, vast lyrical range , utilising humour, irony and superlative metaphor, is virtually unsurpassed in the modern music genre of the past 50 years. Add to that the variety of instrumentation and innovation, regardless of current trending, and I believe that Sparks will be lauded and only truly appreciated when their musical career finally draws to a close. (Which I sincerely hope is in the distant future) . I would be genuinely interested in a more complete justification of your comment. Kind Regards.

@@garrystubbs4891 I agree with most of your opinions. But I think they are not and will never be at the level of truly original bands who broke through and truly inspired others, e.g., kraftwerk, ELO, Queen, etc. I think Sparks managed to follow up quite well and invested much of its own in the vein you commented, but they were not key innovators in my view

@@laurelb4193 there are no good or bad opinions (if they are respectful). There are just positive or negative reactions to them. A different thing would be to put it forward as a fact. Then it would be wrong if proven wrong
